I posed here before and tricomb misunderstood me. I need to know which benzo is better for sleeping. He misunderstood and thought I was an alcoholic looking for a benzo as substitute. I used to drink once a week and decided to use a benzo instead. Anyone tried both etizolam and diazepam? Which one did you like more?

Ive only done diazepam and have read about etizolam , what I gather is that etizolam is much better for sleeping because it's quite sedating and has similar muscle relaxing properties to diazepam , also similar euphoria . But also etizolam causes amnesia like Xanax , so be careful .

I only have experience with Diazepam out of the 2, and for me low doses did nothing, high doses relaxed me, but left me too euphoric to sleep. Peacepipechief sounds spot on to me.

Oh, as an after thought, Zopiclone available to you? If so I find it great, 30-60 mins after taking I nod off, and wake 8+ hours later with zero hangover, I do get a nasty metal taste though, and carry similar tolerance/dependency risks to benzos.

Sometimes it's hard to get accross what you want to in words..so maybe that's where the misunderstanding came from.
I don't sleep so, i don't know for sure..
but i've heard about you humans that do sleep...
so if i were forced to advise then here is what I'd say:
etizolam is much more like xanax...so it'll sedate you faster..and will also will wear off faster..ie:little to no hangover effect next morning.
diaz in my opinion should never be wasted on sleep...but if you insisted on it..the half life is much longer..so you'd still be feeling drowsy the next morning...
have you tried benedryl or something otc yet before you jump on the benzo wagon...
once you're in need of a benzo for sleep...going without is gonna hurt in more ways than one.

It depends on what type of insomnia you're dealing with. If you're having trouble falling asleep but no problems staying asleep, then I'd say etizolam. If the issue is both falling and staying asleep and/or early awakening, I'd go with diazepam. Token is correct though, due to diazepam's rather long half-life, you will feel quite drowsy in the morning. Also, if you take diazepam for a few nights, its metabolites will build up, amplifying any daytime drowsiness and grogginess.
