Hey guys, just looking for some advice. For the last year i have been taking 2-3mg of Etizolam at night to help me sleep. I had suffered from not being able to sleep at night for around 10 years and actually lost 2 jobs because of it, the thing with me was that i could not get to sleep at night but once i finally did i would go into to a real deep sleep and even a crazy loud alarm clock would not wake me some days, so i would tend to sleep in and end up losing jobs because i had bad timekeeping. However over the Last year i have started a new job (8 months now) and with the help of Etizolam i have not been late once. However i do worry about my usage even tho my life has been so much better with it, i try to reduce my usage on weekends and periods were I'm off work and have even tapered off on a few occasions for up to 2 weeks, but eventually end up getting more in ,usually about 4am when I'm having a really bad night of sleeplessness and get so pissed off i just order 50 and be done with it! What do i do? i know i cant take them forever but i struggle with routine sleeping without them???

I had circadian rhythm issues just like you. It caused severe problems in my life. This light has done wonders for me. It has helped me change my sleep pattern by fooling my brain into moving my circadian rhythm to a place more akin to how I am forced to live by responsibility. It also wakes me up immediately and crushes that fucking awful feeling I have when im forced to wake up off my rhythm. Our circadian rhythms are designated by an optical nerve that is light sensitive to the blue spectrum of light. I really can't say enough good things about this light.

Benzos allow is to sleep, but they produce absolutely crap sleep. I feal much better off six hours of unmedicated sleep then I did off 12 hours of benzo sleep.

You can also see a doctor and try useing a stimulant in the morning. You just set your alarm and then when it goes off you take some adderall or methylphenidate and go back to bed. What used to be hitting the snooze twenty times is a row, will turn into two or three times and the your up and feeling pretty good. Then hit that blue therapy light and you feal great. I know you're calling BS, but for real its possible for you to feal human and function in the morning.

Good sleep hygiene, wearing sunglasses after 7 pm, and adding in melatonin 6 hours before bed can make things even better.

Here is that light

Hope this helps and you can find relief

I have used a SAD light in mornings to simulate sunlight and wake up. Can imagine you're on a beach or something with your eyes closed, it's pretty cool.

That other is interesting.. not sure how mine differs from the BLU.

Lots of factors could play in. Caffeine, other stims, stress, sleep apnea. I never found long term relief with benzos. Going cold turkey really sucks. A sleep study may be of some help once you reach somewhat of a baseline, i.e. without the drugs.
