Well, I'm 18[ish] and I'm using etizolam from time to time.
I'm still not sure if I using it for medical purposes, for forgetting my problems or just to get high(I guess this is all true).

Anyway, I'm scared as shit from addiction or dependency, I was never an addict to anything other than maybe synthetic cannabinoids(I don't sure if you can call it addiction, but I had some hard times to kick it completely).

So I'm asking you to form me some kind of rules/diet for my etizolam use(how much to take, when not to take), in order for me to stay an independent person.
In addition, I want you to tell me what are the first signs of developing dependency/addiction. and your opinion about what should I do(do you think diet/rules for use is the right solution?).

Use it on an as needed basis and if you start to get tolerance, don't just increase your dose. Instead, take a break from it. Don't use it to get high if you want to use it for medicinal purposes. Just take the smallest dose needed for the desired effect. I use it for sleep and just take 1mg. I never used it recreationally. I've used many other benzos recreationally and have come to the conclusion that they are a poor choice for recreational use.

If you're taking it for anxiety .5mg is the recommended dose. Sublingual is my preferred ROA because it works quickly. Don't fall into a pattern of taking higher doses if you don't get the effects as before. If you're taking it to get both to get high and medicinally you'll likely develop tolerance & find yourself up shit's creek.

Being worried about forming a dependence is a very good thing to be; it means you'll be very careful. Still benzos can creep up on you. For example, I don't really enjoy them, and I've found my use creeping up to every other day. So, I'm quite worried.

Something that's worked for me in the past is setting "using days"- IMO 2 days a week is a safe amount, preferably spaced out.
Don't say to yourself "I'll use them if I can't sleep, or I'll use them whenever I'm anxious"- thats a good way to get hooked. Just stick to your per-planned days.

Also, try not to buy large quantities of the drug; knowing you've got a big stockpile can also be tempting. It's what caught me out. You sound sensible and cautious, and I'm sure you'll be fine OP. Also, taking them to get high would be a mistake.

If you have an addictive personality all those rules will do is delay the inevitable full blown addiction.

i agree, the only good way to prolong addiction to a substance is the inability to obtain that substance on a semi-regular basis

so if you have an easy way to supply your use of a substance, you should really be asking yourself why you need etizolam, because addiction often occurs when you are using the drug to forget problems / self medicate and you already ticked 2 boxes for that

Yeah, you've made a good point there. We set our little rules (or at least I do), but drugs are insidious to a person with an addictive personality, and I include myself there for sure. I guess that yeah the reasons he's medicating do throw up a red flag, and I missed that. Forgetting problems being a major one.

If it's used for medicinally, IMO etizolam is a beneficial drug, but it should be respected as a high risk drug.
