Not sure if this belongs in here since Etizolam is technically not a benzo. Sorry.

I have suffered from severe general anxiety for almost my entire life. I had my first panic attack when I was 8 years old and since then I have struggled immensely. My anxiety is physically taxing and so bad that it gets to the point where my whole body feels as if it is on fire.

The only two things that have TRUELY helped me were alprozalam and heroin. I used heroin for about 3 years to combat my anxiety. Thankfully, I have been clean from heroin for almost 3 years now. I also havn't used Xanax for over 3 years.

I have tried everything to combat anxiety, and currently I meditate everyday as well as take around 1.5 grams of Phenibut daily(have for about a year), The phenibut has helped to a degree but my anxiety is still through the roof.

Last week I ordered 30mg of etizolam in the form of Consern Etizest 1mg tablets. I find that 1mg is as effective as alprozalam, so now comes my question.

I do not want to develop a tolerance to etizolam, and I plan on using it strictly theraputically. If I were to dose 1mg-2mg/day of Etizolam every other day and use phenibut in the days between, would I become physically dependent on Etizolam? How about one day of Etizolam, two of phenibut? Or possibly some other combination of alternation?

I understand that I am dependent on the phenibut but I am wondering if anyone has had any success using this combination or any other combination. If anyone has any experience with etizolam dependence and could help me out that would be great.

Thank you all so much,

J.

If you use any GABAergic drug (etizolam or phenibut) on a regular basis, you'll eventually develop tolerance after a while. Especially with benzos, they're supposed to only be taken for 2 weeks before discontinuing them.

It would be best for you to find some other non-pharmacological way of dealing with anxiety: mindfulness training, CBT, or something. Benzodiazepines and other anti-anxiety drugs do nothing to solve the core issues causing anxiety, they just mask the symptoms.

If you think your anxiety is bad, wait until you're having benzo withdrawals.

I too am interested in Etizolam as an anxiolytic. Is it not a derivative of diazepam? I have had little success with diazepam; clonazepam worked wonders but is too rewarding and cannabis, promethazine and oxycodone are all too sedating for daytime use. How does Etizolam compare in terms of withdrawal and rate of dependence against other diazepam derivatives? Thanks!

Sekio,

Thanks for the advice. I have been through many cognitive behavior sessions. I was with one doctor for over two years as well as many others. My case is one that requires medication. I've experienced mild Benzo w/ds and they were awful, I also have more experience with heroin withdrawl which was absolute hell. I'm just trying to find a way to take this medication therepuetically without gaining THAT much of a tolerance/dependence, because it does work wonders. 2mg is like 1.5mg of Xanax except I can think and function.

well you are going to develop a tolerance quicker to phenibut than you will etizolam imo..i have used etiz for a year or so and 1 mg still does a really good job at relieving anxiety... phenibut helps anxiety somewhat but most boost mood and motivation for me..nasty brain fog on it though..

best off using other natural methods of anxiety reduction but problem is, where are all of the success stories of people that have only used therapy(non medication) based routes?i havent seen too many tbh..

I'd be very careful with both substances. They build tolerance quite quickly and the WD can be nasty especially for etizolam. Is say use the etiz no more than twice a week when you really need it; like a job interview or a nerve shredding social experience. As for phenibut you are already taking it everyday so I suggest maybe just making sure you don't keep increasing doses by taking a day off it or two days if able. Have you tried gabapentin? It's similar to pheni but from what I read the WD are not as bad. I used gabapentin and only had a week of mild discomfort coming off it.

^ Yeah, I don't know how bad OP's anxiety REALLY is, but etizolam is fuckin great for those times in need. Suggest just use it for those times. Yeah, you know the drill for benzo wd's, even though eti has a short half-life you wouldn't wanna be in that position again... I've tried phenibut in the past with mixed results, generally not as good as I hoped. I wonder what 1-2mg eti + a careful dose of phenibut would be like?

edit: In an emergency, I was forced to quit phenibut cold turkey after using over 1g daily for at least 2-3 months, no withdrawal symptoms, maybe a very mild rebound anxiety but nothing big. Am I a freak or blessed?

Both mixed in with a bit of luck, 7 days of phenibut (1-3gs a day) caused the most horrid rebound anxiety I've ever experienced. Maybe I'm just unlucky.
