Elon Musk officially buys Twitter, DONE DEAL !

Remember when the 'information superhighway' was going to allow for democratization of society. Eternal September is fucking lame.
Yep.

I think I remember Bill Gates or some other computer pioneer saying something to the effect of When everyone has access to the truth there will be fewer disagreements because we'll all know the facts.

Right.
We now live in a utopia of peace & harmony.

Nearly double the earnings on just over half the revenue, and that's after doing payouts to users now for total interactions

March 28 (Reuters) - Elon Musk's xAI artificial intelligence firm has acquired Musk's X, the social media outfit formerly known as Twitter for $33 billion.
The all-stock deal announced on Friday consolidates two of Musk's multiple portfolio companies, which also include automaker Tesla and SpaceX, and potentially eases the billionaire's ability to train his AI model known as Grok. Including $12 billion in debt, the deal is valued at $45 billion

lol. 7 days ago you posted that it was worth $44b.

today, when elon musk bought the company from himself it's worth $33b.

it's lost $11b of value in 7 days...

great job elon(s).

the 'enterprise' value is $45b, so the true cash value is $33b, right?

it's just corporate reshuffling.

it's hard to know how x.com is doing but musk reportedly told employees in january that revenue was unimpressive and that the company was barely breaking even.

The 'deal' is worth $45b, meaning what he's purchasing, not the x enterprise overall. For reference

the combination values "xAI at $80 billion and X at $33 billion ($45B less $12B debt)"

Pshaw! Heresay! You can't trust what the Musk fellow says! ;)
