Agreed. Ben Shapiro, Charlie Kirk, Tucker Carlson, etc are prolly thrilled that Musk plans to RIF thousands of people. That's what corporations do anyways... lay off large amounts of workers, file bankruptcy, buy back stock, and simultaneously give their CEO millions in bonuses. Business as usual for those assholes.

I don't think anyone can fault you for being a previous Musk fan. The important thing is that intelligent people change their mind when presented with new evidence.

Unfortunately, no matter how bad he gets, there will likely always be fanboys who admire him for no other reason than the size of his bank account. Sad really.

He certainly got a huge amount of free publicity on the newswires today from buying it, if nothing else.

I'll be interested to see what he does next, since I think he will do something, if simply to show off to his fanbois and because he seems to get bored easily and has no qualms shaking things up.
 
I think it'll become an advertising revenue machine. Tesla doesn't do advertising, so it makes sense that he's now getting into advertising revenue through Twitter. I could be wrong, we'll see
 
Sure he'll crack the code Twitter's been trying to crack all this time, nobody has any concrete ideas on how though, seemingly. Advertising the things one wants to see, amazing.

He got royally fucked here, plus he now put himself in the position where he'll be regarded as THE face of global content moderation. There is no winning there, he'll be fighting off everyone.

It'll be bad and there's zero indication he has any ideas on how to solve the fundamental problems with Twitter, any speculation is just based on some sort of idea of Elon that is just far out
 
I'm not gonna post screenshots for obvious reasons but all over reddit are twitter screenshots of MAGAts, Qultists, and others repeatedly and maliciously posting very disturbing comments calling to kill hard "r" n-words, jews, and other disgusting racist slurs. Of course this was to be expected but it was almost immediately after news broke that it was a done deal.

How can you be so naïve.

I'm sick to death of this hero worship mentality, whether it be Elon, the Queen, your particular flavour of professional liar (politician), or some celebrity nobody. Or even abstract things like crypto.

He won't change a damn thing. There is no bucking this system we're under and the technological world order that is now being revealed. He's very much a part of it and has suckered in a whole segment of young impressionable people who should be asking far more cynical and probing questions about all of this and the direction we're going.

What use is being able to say what you want on twitter when all of it is recorded and parsed by the five-eyes network, and soon to be fed into your digital identity that will then be tied to digital central currency. You'll say what you believe you should say, not what ought to be said lest you be cancelled. Look at what has happened in the past year or so with the truckers, Alex Jones, Kayne. That is a glimpse of where we're going, in particular with the truckers where there was no court case or right to be heard and just the state itself acting as judge and jury with no trial.

What use is free speech when you're already in jail.

Bluelight is hardly social media in a traditional sense.
