Elon Musk officially buys Twitter, DONE DEAL !

My friend's brother works in IT so I asked what he's had to say about this. He said "nothing" but when he refers to Musk it's as an "arsehole". I liked my mate's take on it:

Elon, fucking hell, I don't know if he is "king of the online trolls" as described in a recent Guardian article or whether he sits somewhere on the spectrum. Prefer it be the electric chair though.

this democrat v republican scenario just kills me inside.
It's just so crazy how people are just automatically split in two groups in the US
and the saddest part is how this is used to make both sides hate each other.

OmG yOu ArE rEpEmOcRaT?1

even the 'research' seems to be doing deep field scans on this bullcrap.
democrats are such & such, and republicans are so & so.
if we did that in Germany again, England would be declaring war on us once more.

Classism is the death of democracy

Feel bad for you US peeps. Do like the rest of the world and stop seeing a difference.
You're all US imperialist scum 😇😇😇
exactly

how are two groups of people who are diametrically apposed to each other supposed to produce something great? especially when they constantly sabotage anything the other side attempts to do whenever possible?

broken

I think he's funny

but he's also absolutely fucking insane in the membrane. indeed, insane in the brain.
down to -140°C in the winter, have fun with that, weirdo
edit: on mars I mean, skipped a step

bingo

you need more than 2 relevant parties to grow.
ideas have to be discussed from different perspective, to find proper consensus, not this circus of blaming the other parties for everything that is wrong in your country, turning in circles

So King of the Trolls?

LOL:

he had his ppl make a rocket pointy, because it wasn't pointy enough.
it was too round on the top, it needed to be pointy

that is pretty funny.

(if you don't understand the reference, I)

I don't.. Please explain!

"but he's also absolutely fucking insane in the membrane. indeed, insane in the brain." Pot, kettle, black?

don't you know i'm loco?

difference is i don't have a networth that is big enough to have its own orbit
if he is indeed loco, that could be slightly dangerous.

he's betting a lot on technological singularity, that's the only way his mars thing is going to play out.

Surveys show Tesla shoppers are only slightly more likely to be Democrats than Republicans.

Surveys by research firm Morning Consult show that in January about 22% of Democrats were considering buying a Tesla, while 17% of Republicans were looking to purchase one. And that gap has been closing — Republican consideration of buying a Tesla has risen about 3 percentage points just since December’s survey. And Republicans are slightly more likely to trust the Tesla brand, 27% compared to 25% among Democrats.

anyways, I thought they were mad at the thought of orange mop boy being unbanned?
I mean

I wasnt talking about dem's
but, ok

He was involved with Amber Heard.. His Mars mission may have to wait. Or he might put her on the rocket and send it straight into the sun lol.

have to be honest i had to google that name

he did send a car into space, so you might not be far off here

Anyhow, humanity colonizing Mars is a goal 3 decades in the future
Think he counts on modern AIs' perspective* of reaching technological singularity by 2040
so AI would first colonize Mars for a decade or so, to make it (partially)habitable.

I have no other explanation of how he wants to produce enough energy 🐧

*not counting gpt 4. as many parameters as the human brain has synapsis,
that could just be it tbh

Humanity colonising any planet other than Earth is a bad idea imo. Because microcosm/macrocosm etc. The human body is 70% water same as Earth and I don't think that's a random coincidence.

Call me a hippie but idc 😎 I'm quite happy for the likes of Elon Musk to try
their luck on Mars!

You had to google Amber Heard? Good god, do you live on Pluto? :P

I can probably sum her up with one video..

I'm sorry, I have to correct you, but I will, because I'm German, and we're evil :devilish:
I work in medicine, so I'd be a fool if I did not know that the human body is made of up to 60% water (it's the heart that's made of 73% water, brain as well)

Oh it's quite positive that he is trying. Essentially he or someone else only has to master AI, and the process is done, on paper. Actually colonizing a planet without a magnetic field strong enough to span over the surface is another thing

I did not know that name, no. I'm aspie, bit restrictive on my interests.
Over all, since I have difficulties understanding PR news, I often overlook them entirely

I do not live on Pluto

LOL@I do not live on Pluto. I do, sometimes. Pluto/Hades, God of the Underworld. But also the furthest planet ("planetoid" 🙄 stfu scientists).

A Kraut eh? Actually some very non-evil people were German (Beethoven, Einstein, Goethe). Hitler ruined it for everyone but Germany did exist before him.

Musk and Co will become a kind of new species.. Trolls are part of it too. People addicted to computer games can lose the ability to differentiate between human beings and game characters. They can be extremely cruel to strangers online then switch the computer off and forget about it. Combine this with the amount of money Musk has and I can envision this "humanoid". I'm thinking Westworld now.. Or Bladerunner. I don't even know but they might look like this

it's not even a coincidence, let alone a random coincidence.

(whether you care or not :) )

but you should care because you're using it to make some kind of point and you're off by 3 orders of magnitude.

alasdair

Tyler Durden: Oh I get it, it's clever. How's that working out for you?

Jack: What?

Tyler Durden: Being clever.

Jack: *perplexed* Good I guess.

Tyler: Great, keep it up then.

My father's got a Masters in Chemical Engeering from Cambridge, where he shared lectures with Stephen Hawking. I did Physics and Chemistry in final year. I get it. I'll take it up a notch to make "some kind of point".

My favourite journalist on this:

"Yet in a move that will feel familiar to a lot of Twitter users, he has not logged off, but leaned in further. When I was a child, there was a guy called Victor Kiam who owned Remington, and he would personally feature in the firm’s electric razor adverts, going: “I liked the shaver so much, I bought the company.” It would be nice to see Musk do something similar. “I liked calling innocent people paedos so much, I bought the company.”
