Bluelight Crew
I signed up for the Beta a while back, got an email this week with a code to make an account and test out the game this weekend. Not sure if it's an open Beta or if it's only cause I signed up a couple months ago - Anyway, I installed and logged in today and to be honest I'm sort of disappointed.
I was a world of warcraft kid back in the day, and I actually re subscribed recently. Though It only took me a month to get bored with the latest expansion, and I only log on to PVP for maybe an hour or two every couple days at this point. I was REALLY hoping that ESO would FINALLY be a legit competitor... Turns out just like every other MMO released in the last 10 years that was supposed to be the new WoW, it was over hyped.
I don't understand... Does WoW own the rights to the entire concept of how the game works? In my opinion the only way a new MMO will be worth playing is if it has a user interface and mechanics similar to that of WoW, if not similar then better but nothing better has been invented yet as far as I know.
Anyway, I can't really say much about ESO other than I'm disappointed since I accepted the non disclosure agreement to get access to the beta. (yeah it probably wouldn't be a big deal to talk about it here, but it COULD be and COULD land me with some serious fuckin penalties, not risking it.) I've only actually given it like an hour and haven't even made it to a multiplayer part of the world yet, so maybe I just need to give it another shot. I'll report back if my opinion changes at all.
In the mean time, I think the email mentioned something about more access codes being available so maybe go check out the ESO website if anybody is interested. The current beta ends tomorrow or monday i think.
