elder scrolls 5: skyrim

I'm pretty excited for this. It's great that they finally included dragons into the gaming experience. I just hope they don't become a nuisance like what happened with cliff racers in morrowind. I wonder if they'll bring back the levitate spell. That was one qualm I had with Oblivion.

YESSS! fucking dragons are awesome!
A fucking dragon is like the ultimate boss in any video game, if video games had more dragons...

srsly. imma play oblivion again just to get back in the mood. i broke it the first time i played it. i went all magic and did the mages guild quests first. once i was able to enchant my own items i put chameleon on everything and i was invisible even while attacking. the game is pretty boring if nithing can see you though.

i'd do the exact same shit, and i was able to cast the highest hard level locks(forgot if it was hard of wery hard..) so i'd break into houses like this and steal shit... lol

its fun to attack ur summon 3 times and make battle with it.

The trailer looks so damn awesome..I just hope my computer will be able to handle it. Regardless, I'm stoked for this to be finished and come out!

This style of free roaming RPG is so awesome and bethesda does it the best by far. Its always so exiting to see what their new game looks like and how they have improved/changed things from the old one.

cant wait for this game.

Being such a huge fan of oblivion, I wet myself when I heard about this, naturally.

But then gamespot posted the new images, and my fears appear to be confirmed: that since it takes place entirely within Skyrim, that the setting would be of a monotonous dreary winter/scandanavian sort.

Let's hope Skyrim has a change of seasons, at least...

in the things ive read there are at least 4 separate environments. lush forests, deserts, mountains and wintery tundras.

i started a new toon in oblivion and was doing the dark brofist missions. i got the horse and am on my way around the world taking out motherfuckers but im following some guy in the imperial city and the game keeps freezing on me. i dont know why, maybe cause i had been duping items, but i wasnt doing anything crazy, just extra health and magic potions really. its pissing me off for sure though.

The new features that make each game unique (your character evolves as well as levels up) and the stuff they learned from the two Fallouts... amazing.

Morrowind was better than Oblivion, but that's because it was more in depth. My major gripe with Oblivion was 2 fold, there was very little customization of equipment and the bad guys would level up with you and would be wearing the best armor as well.

I just might buy an xbox360 just for this... REALLY REALLY WANT... I've been hooked to Elder Scrolls since Morrowind. I've literally completed every single side quest in Morrowind, and read almost every single book.

Very hyped! Oblivion was one of my favorite games, and so far, it looks like things are only getting better in Skyrim.

I had similar thoughts, but was delighted to read these tidbits on IGN.com (IGN actually saw a live demo):

IGN said:
Unlike Oblivion's homogenous green forests, there'll be a lot more diversity in Skyrim, which lies to the north in Bethesda's fictional land of Tamriel. You'll travel through pine thickets, mist-laced mountains, grassy and volcanic tundra, autumn woods, and glaciers way up north. In all there'll be six or seven types of environments that'll be dramatically different, which should be good news for those who played Oblivion and were looking for a little more environmental variety. Howard also said that there'll be a much greater diversity in the 120 or so dungeons in the game so it won't feel like you're clearing the same one over and over again.

From what's been shown off so far, it looks like a role-playing game fan's dream come true, and one of the most beautiful virtual fantasy worlds in existence.

Also, much more exciting rewards for clearing dungeons! Namely, you get to read special runes on dungeon walls which actually give you new magical abilities called "shouts"! Which is definitely a step up from your standard dime-a-dozen Oblivion loot.

I'll probably buy it day one. I'm a big fan of this series. Oblivion was epic as hell, esp for 2006. New Vegas was a bit disappointing but I enjoyed Fallout 3.
