Effects of crystal on mucas membrane

Does anyone know what sort of damage crystal may have on the mucas membrane in you nose from snorting it?

Based solely on personal experience I would have to say it can be pretty damaging. The interior of my nose constantly feels like the barrel of a .45 caliber pistol...hot, dry, kind or gored out (not wet and smushy like the way snorting cocaine makes it feel). Of course I have been habitually snorting methamphetamine hcl for about 1 1/2 years (with the occasional month break or switch to smoking). Sorry this is not scientifically based, but I am sure someone will reply with actual facts.
