so my girlfriend got a urinary tract infection (uti) and we are supposed to roll together this weekend. she thinks that because of the mediction she is going to be on, she can not roll with me. i think otherwise. im doing research right now on her medications.

cipro and pyridium.

i dont think they will have a negative reaction to the ecstasy. but i want to some answers. will there be a negative reaction? has anyone ever dealt with a situation like this? what can anyone tell me, any information at this point would be helpful.

please let me know of anything of relevance to this. or any educated opinions you may have as i would very much appreciate any evidence of the consequences you may find. the ones especially backed up with facts and sources would be most valuable to me at this point.

thank you.

By putting the two medication names into google with the word MDMA, nothing came up so i'm gonna say yeah she'll be fine. But I ain't a doctor.

Cipro slows down break down of other meds because its an enzyme inhibitor, reduces absorption of minerals, but I don't think it will make too much difference. But having a urinary tract infection and becoming dehydrated because of mdma isn't a good idea. And on the flipside, drinking a tonne of water, and wanting to pee all the time isn't going to be fun with a urinary tract infection.

^ What about if every other drink of water was cranberry juice? impractical and tastes like shit I know but would really stop the burn.

I would never roll with a UTI. She may not feel any pain as much while she's rolling, but the side effects of MDMA will only make her UTI worse. A persisting infection can lead to a much bigger problem. Wait until she is better. There are events every weekend in LA. :)

In my vast UTI experience, now that she's on the medication, the pain and frequency should already be minimal. If you're planning to wait for the weekend, the UTI should be cleared up completely (but she should continue taking the medication until it's gone to avoid it returning easily.) Therefor, the effects of MDMA and a UTI shouldn't bother her much if at all.

As for the medications themselves, I'm no doctor so I can't say. But I can say that I have taken low doses of an anti-biotic associated with UTI's the day OF rolling and it didn't seem to interfere at all.

So if she's comfortable with it, there doesn't seem to be much evidence that it could be harmful to her. But let her decide.

that is really about all i can do at this point. i mean we are waiting til saturday night. and she got the infection yesterday; so she mentioned maybe it being cleared up by saturday. so im really hoping it is.

and all the information on those meds i found is that they are just antibiotics. i personally think it would be more dangerous to roll while taking viagra.

but it is really going to be up to her. i guess i just have to stop and not try to control or manipulate the situation. letting go is difficult.

thank you all for the responses, they were helpful.

She should probably stay at home, relax, or at least abstain from using drugs when you two go out. She needs to recover from her infection. Lack of sleep or excessive stress on the body could make things worse because they impede the autoimmune response. Just because her medications may not interact negatively with the drugs, it doesn't mean that she should go out and use while she is taking care of a medical problem. UTIs can be very serious for women.

@firstmoment, sympathy to your girlfriend. I'm a medical assistant and I'd like to share a little bit. The treatment for a urinary infection is very simple and not at all painful. Simply drink lots of water all through the day and consume the antibiotics prescribed by your doctor. Drinking water and fluids help drain out your urinary bladder completely, thus also removing the germs from your body. Make sure you eat the antibiotics regularly and complete the dose. If you fail to continue the regular dosage, there are chances that the infection may relapse. Also, improper treatment can also lead to a severe urinary tract infection which may also infect and damage the kidneys. Thus, follow the given medication and take good care of your health for fast recovery from the infection. Moreover your girlfriend can use ADULT DIAPERS. Thanks;)

i once had strep throat and was prescribed antibiotics. I was planning to roll with my wife about 3-5 days after
i went to the doc. when i got the script filled i asked the pharmacist if it was cool to take mdma while the antibiotic was still in my system. The guy said it would be okay. he didnt bat an eye while saying it so hopefully hes correct. i didn't notice any problems and had a great time rolling.

OK so last week i had a uti and was on a three day antibiotic course but still wanted to go buzzing so I checked out this thread and decided that it wasn't that big of a deal. (My uti was very slight.. no real pain just discomfort). As I was coming up I started to feel a bit of pain in my lower back (a normal uti symptom) but was fine the rest of the night and had a good time. I finished my antibiotics two days later and my symptoms had practically disappeared. Three days later my uti came back... and with a vengeance. It's much worse now and I have to go to the doctor again. I cannot stress this enough don't take mdma on uti medicine it's too much for your kidneys and your medicine won't work properly.

No don't take mdma when you have a UTI. Mdma does stress your system and the urinary tract is involved, with less peeing and so on. It's not the drugs combo it's because your system is compromised.
