I'd kill for a vodka and lucozade. Lucozade was available for sale exactly once in the five + years I've been out here. Was a glorious week:D

I'm not sure where that is, but I could never live there.

Tastiest thing I've had all week. 75g pork loin diced, garlic and soy marinade, clove of garlic, fried the pork, added half an onion, a chunk of what I think is bitter gourd, never cooked with it before, diced up, a finely chopped tomato, drop of oyster sauce, drop of soy sauce, pinch of salt, pinch of pepper, then stole a spicy spatula of potato and channa masala from my indian staffs pot and mixed it in, added a small cup of water, brought to a quick boil and served.

Tastiest meal of the week, so far;)
 
Had a few BBQs this weekend and have basically decided all I ever wanna eat again is salmon cooked over the BBQ. Had it in foil so it didn't taste particularly different but it cooked p much perfectly every time and even the fillets I'd had frozen for like six months or so didn't taste like they had been. Sadly I don't think I can afford to buy coal every time I wanna cook salmon but yeah, was nice with just lime and salt on.

edit: missus is cooking eggy bread now and I just heard a scream :/

Well there you go ;) Sounds lush, looks awful.. Tastes 100%!!!

I have a veg curry on the go for tonight. After all that Welsh meat etc (who mentioned sausages :sus:) I'm crying out for proper Indian food.

Though I'm not sure if a butternut squash is very authentic - is that an American thing? But it does go down well in a pulse based curry for a meat-loving hubz 8)

Trying to decide what to chuck next to the steaks I bought. Got some nice feta and spinach pastry parcels but only four of the fuckers.

May I suggest some Sweet Potatos sautéed in small chunks with Sage & Thyme. Great accompaniment to steak meals & not hard to do!
 
You may! Not really had sweet potatoes much but recall loving the sweet potato chips at the SU bar annnnnd I think we actually have some in, result

I second this. I really love sweet potato chips but I've had a few lacklustre servings in some establishments. It really is important to get the seasoning right otherwise they're very bland, I've found.
 
Sage indeed works very well with sweet potato. It is big friends with chili too, most hard herbs lilke bay, thyme and rosemary are also good. Something about chili and sweet potato is delicious though.
 
I made chicken kievs last night. I confess the butter leaked by they were dead crispy so that was pleasing.
 
Just had bbq quails with bacon glaze, scallop and venison chorizo skewers, courgette skewers, jerk pork shoulder, fennel and coriander lamb rack with tzatziki, sea trout with tarragon butter, romanesco with chilli and mint and roast/fondant (halfway between the two) potatos. Everything cooked over coals except the spuds and romanesco.
 
Pork loin steaks with mushrooms and some brie-like (possibly actually brie) cheese we had lying round. We've had like an epidemic of BBQs this past week, don't think I've eaten anything but meat and some veg here and there since last Saturday and honestly my stomach has never felt better. Think I'm happy about this.
 
I made a blackcurrant and lime victoria sponge last night. It's not bad, but actually I don't hink victoria is my favourite kind of sponge.
