EADD What Are You Munching On? v. Godlike steaks & shitting candles.

I'm waiting on the hubby getting up so he can cook my breakfast - I've tried a few time to wake him up (chucked the cat on him etc) hes having none of it. I might Peter Dinklange him (sounds pretty kinky) :D

Lol Beary your fella ain't stupid he's prob hinting for you to make breakfast. If your cooking is as good as your dishes look on here I'd sleep in too n not wake up when prompted hehehe :)

Afternoon snack of Som Tam (Thai spicy green papaya salad) washed down with ice cold beers. I have a Thai Sour Yellow Fish Curry on the go for dinner.

Som Tam is made in a special mortar and pestle using a wooden pestle. It is the most popular meal in Thailand among the Thais. It's bloody hot but quite delicious.

The best Thai cookbook. I thoroughly recommend it for those interested in Thai food.

I absolutely love that stuff <3 - works great with just carrot but I often make the dressing and pour it over chickpeas, leave it for a while and its just lovely stuff. You've set me off for it now - I have chicken and rice for lunch (leftovers), I have Yau Choy which I was going to have for dinner may make that into something to have with that dressing.

I made a mistake a while ago of buying Fish Sauce from the Philippines, took the lid off, quickly put it back on and its at the back of my cubboard as I keep forgetting to throw it out.

I have been using Squid fish sauce which is good but i usually use Megachef Fish sauce. If you can find that i highly recommend it. Its the best.

I've seen the Squid one for sale but not seen the Megachef one in any of the stores but will keep my eye out now (even the bottle looks nice) - I use the Mai Siam bottle, its not too strong (as some can be). I could eat that salad every day though, I can't always get the Papaya so often just use carrots - the other thing I love is the sour curry but made with butternut squash as the sweetness really works.

Thai street food is gorgeous stuff, I find that a lot of the touristy restuarants tone the spices down too much and quickly learned phet mak with a big smile works wonders

I roasted a chicken with root veggies. Somewhat a bit late as the man had to have a pizza he was so hungry. The chicken etc will be fine for tomorrow (I'll end up picking at it 8)) and there will be plenty left over for meals during the week until the Xmas duck and ham gets done :)

I'm doing the works for xmas dinner. Family coming so a boozy trifle will be made too.

I like traditional cooking for the holidays :D

I have seemed to have lost my appetite over the last few days :( which is not like me.

Went for a curry on Saturday around 4pm, couldn't eat it so got the waiter to stick it in a doggy bag, ate leftovers yesterday. That's all I have eaten since Saturday. It was a lamb dish with spinach and mustard leaves, saffron rice and a peshwari naan - normally I would have devoured that in minutes. Managed to guzzle half a bottle of vino and a pint of Cobra no bother though...

Had a visit from my mother & 2 sisters yesterday so we could all exchange Xmas presents & this was the only day we could do it on due to their work committments. Mum bought a lovely hamper of food that she had made for us all. All uneaten food was left in our fridge. So currently tucking into salmon&cucumber sandwiches,Lincolnshire cocktail sausages, savoury eggs and cheese & onion rolls. Lovely

Fresh tuna sashimi for lunch. Heaven on earth. Washed down with ice cold beer of course.

yum.

i love sushi and, even more, sashimi. i like to mix wasabi into my soy for dipping and it drives me crazy when it goes lumpy. a friend showed me a great trick - you pour a tiny amount of beer into your dish then add the wasabi. it dissolves really well in the beer then you can add soy and you have a lovely smooth solution of wasabi in soy for your dipping delight :)

what is your favourite sashimi? i love saba (mackerel).
