Dxm afterglow forever?

Hello there,

Idk if this is something to be too concerned about but I took Dxm 3 times in the month of August, 300mg and then 600mg twice in the space of 2weeks. The afterglow stayed with me for about a month. But my afterglow would usually just consist of a heavy dissociated feeling which would be accompanied with teeth chattering when I would smoke a cigarette or weed.

Now it's November and every time I smoke a cigarette I get the slight dissociated feeling and mild teeth chattering.

Will I experience this for the rest of my life? Is this normal? It's kind of annoying.

I can't say if it's normal because I haven't really done DXM all that much... but it probably won't last forever. Just don't do DXM for a long time if you're concerned about it. Drugs certainly can have lasting effects, but they very, very, very rarely last forever with such infrequent use. You might just be extra sensitive to it.

Also, the more you worry about these things the less likely they are to go away quickly. Just try to get it out of your mind for a while.

Try take some magnesium supplements, DXM depletes your magnesium and that causes teeth chattering, It could be it depleted your magnesium and you never fully regained it due to a poor diet or something like that

I'd say that this is almost definitely a psychological phenomenon, I seriously doubt the DXM would be having a true physical effect like that on you after a few months. That's not to downplay the significance of the symptom, heavy doses of dissociatives can do very strange things to your brain, especially if you haven't built up a massive tolerance yet. As the first responder advised the best thing you can probably do for it is to try and ignore it, focusing on it will likely only make matters worse.

i did dxm 3 times a week for a whole month, and the after glow lasts a week or more....but it fades....you'll go back to normal....Ive found dxm to be mildest in terms of permanent lasting effects when compared to serotonergic psychs or MDMA
