* NOTE, I'm extremely experienced with 2nd- high 2nd plat trips, yet only have had one other experience with 3rd plateau. I just had a freaking amazing trip last night on 600 mg of dxm. I felt like I had my brain shattered apart, and cemented back together again. The come-up felt like I was going somewhere fast, though I had no clue where. I started listening to the music and probably the whole peak I was just laying down, listening to music, and feeling my body contort into the absolute strangest shapes. I felt like a piece of paper being manipulated into origami. After I came down from the peak and fell into a sort of plateau. This is the part where I felt like I had been put back together. I was blissful and relaxed. It felt like I had a psychological massage that smoothed over all the cracks. at this point I was mostly just writhing about in bed, feeling the softness of it all. When I just started to think I was coming down I went outside in my underwear to get smoke, and I smoked, finished, and then came back inside and the trip freaking came back. I ran into my room and layed down, and felt like I was being turned back into a sheet of paper, being smoothed out and twisted. Every time this happened I felt a complete sense of bliss as if there was nothing wrong with life, like I could just live forever as a blob of transcendental goo. The music throughout the trip was amazing too, I noticed every detail of every note, and always on dxm the music loses all qualities of the lyrics and meaning, but gains a whole 4th dimension of how the emotion of the SOUND affects my emotions. This experience is one to save for special occasions, not to be done too often. Having your atoms rearranged in a supernatural Gaea's arms while listening to some of your favorite music is one of the best experiences of my life. I <3 you DXM. I'm gonna go ahead and just add the playlist I listened to on it, which I believe was very important to the set of this trip.

Don't let the man get you down - Fatboy Slim
Space - Butthole Surfers
La mer - Nine inch nails
Becoming insane - Infected Mushroom
Pagan - Porcupine tree
Teardrop - Massive attack
Where do i begin - Chemical brothers
Breakaway - Basement Jaxx
Monuments burn into moments - Porcupine tree
Shpongle spores - Shpongle

The whole Tool Aenima Cd is great on Dex. The beats are awsome and take you into trances. Very nice. Thanx for the list. Im always looking for mood setters and a BIG part of it is music.

Tool is a wonderful band. I have a very diverse choice of music, this is just the electronic side. :D Hope you enjoy the list!

How about Gravity kills then. I love that on dex also....i think i have a thing on drums though. Tool has alot of drums and on that particular cd "they" were saying they were getting into african drumming. But if electo is your thing try Gravity kills. Another thing that may be of intrest is learing how your mind uses certain wavelengths. And what music hits those hz.
Check this out...

7.4.3 Light and Sound (Brainwave) Machines

Light and Sound Machines are devices which use flashing light and sounds to induce changes in brainwave activity. The simplest of these, costing as little as $20, consists of a bunch of LEDs hooked up to a timer chip with a potentiometer for you to adjust the flashing frequency. The most complex of these (I've seen them list for as much as $500) are full- fledged portable computers which can independently control multicolored lights for each eye, as well as stereo headphones. Some of them allow you to plug in your own music, and will layer the brainwave beat frequency on top of it.

These are available from a number of sources, including the aforementioned Tools for Exploration (call for their catalog), "new age" stores, science stores, and of course on the Internet. To some degree you get what you pay for, but keep in mind that not everyone responds to these gadgets, and you may be better off not forking over the big bucks until you're sure it will be worth it. There's also a shareware program for PC's called "flasher" (see Section 7.4.5) which does the same sort of thing.

The theory on these devices is this. What we call "brainwaves" are the overall resonant properties of neural networks which, to a certain extent, behave like oscillators. Like most oscillators, these can be driven externally, and in this case, the best way to do so is via the eyes and ears. Flashing lights are known to affect brainwave activity, as are pulsing sounds (especially when a beat frequency is applied between the two ears). Epileptics are particularly susceptible to this, and most people are susceptible to the so-called "photic driving" effect, which can induce nausea and confusion using only flashing light and sound.

In other words, flashing lights and pulsing sounds can potentiate oscillations in the brain's neural networks in much the same way that one pushes a child on a swing. At precisely the right moment, a little push adds to the energy of the oscillator and keeps it going. Light and Sound machines apply just the right push at the right time to enhance brainwave activity in particular frequencies.

Using these devices, one can potentiate activity at various brainwave frequencies. Thus far the most commonly discussed brainwave frequencies (or more accurately frequency ranges) are alpha, theta, beta, delta, and sigma. The presence or absence of a given brainwave frequency is an indication of mental state, and by inducing brainwave activity, one can enhance those mental states.

A quick over-simplified summary of brainwave bands:
Alpha waves range from 8 to 12 Hz (cycles per second). Alpha waves appear to be associated with meditative and hypnotic states and sleep. One study on brainwaves and golf (356) found that alpha activity seems to be a good predictor for accurate putting; others have suggested that alpha waves tend to occur while one is absorbed in physical or mental tasks.
Beta waves range from 20 to 28 Hz and appear to be associated with active concentration and thought.
Theta waves range from 3 to 8 Hz, and seem to arise from a hippocampal circuit, possibly with the help of a circuit in the brainstem (358). Theta waves tend to decrease immediately before volitional movements, and are probably an indicator of a closed feedback loop in the limbic system. The theta rhythm may help to encode spatial and/or temporal information (359). Interestingly, the prohormone DHEA increases theta activity (357).
Delta waves, 0.3 to 3 Hz, typically occur only during non-REM sleep. NMDA antagonists (presumably including DXM) greatly increase delta waves during subsequent non-REM sleep (360).
Sigma waves, 10 to 15 Hz, seem to occur primarily during sleep.
Gamma waves, 30Hz and above, may reflect certain aspects of the cognitive process.

The two important brainwave bands for DXM users are theta and alpha. Light and/or sound stimulation at these frequencies has been reported to induce a variety of interesting altered states of consciousness which are, for the most part, indescribable.

Theta stimulation in particular has been reported to generate fantastic results. Here is a description of one person's DXM plus theta stimulation experience:

I used the program "FLASHER" set at 6Hz, turned off the lights, and stared at the screen. At first it just looked like a big flashing computer screen, but gradually I noticed that I was perceiving the light and dark phases separately. The flashes seemed to get brighter and brighter, and last longer and longer. Everything kept building up in intensity, and it was starting to get somewhat scary, when all of a sudden the flashing just ... stopped. It was all white light, and I felt my soul being tugged out of my body. From then on it got really weird ...

WARNING: Brainwave stimulation, especially in the alpha band, can induce siezures in epileptics. If you are, or suspect you might be, epileptic, don't use light and sound machines! DXM may actually decrease the seizure threshold, so be very, very careful.

DAMN your post just surprised me! I've been really interested SPECIFICALLY in the two things you posted! Recently I've really been into edm/trance and specifically complicated rhythms/drums, along with the sciences of brainwaves. Gravity kills is cool too, they're definitely on my next-to-purchase list.

William White. In my book i look to little others when looking on information on DXM. His layout on how Dxm is used, how each platue will be like, and practicly anything you need to get you started on you journey.

This is not the say all end all to the subject, but it is a damn good source for anyone NEWBIE or OLDSCHOOL.

dude, 600mg is alot ;for a first trip lol, becareful. i took 1800mg one-shot on friday (highest dose i've ever taken) and i'm still fucked up. dex is not something to be played with, as it lasts so much longer then ketamine. i've only had one "bad trip" on dex and it was at a relatively low dose long ago, but you were certainly at the higher end of the 3rd or lower end of the 4th plat. "bad trips" at that level can be deadly, and if survived are very very ugly.

I know what i'm doing, i've had many 354 mg trips, a few 470mg trips, and one other 600mg. This trip truly made me know what the third plateau experience is. I weigh about 60kg so I was at about 10mg/kg, the middle of the third plateau. I imagine my set and setting may have contributed to the apparent intenseness of the trip though, :D possibly making it seem like a larger dose. I may be only 14, but I'm not someone who fucks around with drugs without research.

sorry flowingthought, i didn't read correctly and i thought it was your first time taking dex lol. anyway just be safe man a little less is better then a little more in my oppinion.

I like your musical selection :) Porcupine Tree is brilliant. If you haven't heard any of Steven Wilson's other projects, I highly recommend them!

And of course, Shpongle is "something else" :D

Hell yeah, I've been listening to them for a few years. I have 110 songs by them, which are equivalent to 10.8 hours or 835 MB of music. :D

That's what I love to hear ^^ I'm the exact same way, I may not be an expert but I've researched enough and respect the drug enough to know generally how it will go every time I take it. I've had 1 1st plateau dose, 6 2nd plateau doses, 1 3rd plateau dose, and half accidently reaching plateau sigma.

I like how you think kid ^^ mind if I add you as a friend? I would like to keep tabs on your future reports (if/when they happen).

Also, avoid sigma xD

~Stay safe and happy tripping everyone ^-^~
