Bluelight Crew
I took 711mgs of DXM contained in the Robitussin Max Strength Cough Syrup. I had only taken this drug once before, and I wasn't too thrilled with it then, although I was heavily intrigued by the "dreamworld" quasi-psychedelic properties of DXM. My first experience was approximately 350mgs, and I thought that a higher dose was in order. I read up on the third plateau at Erowid, and felt I was ready to go for it.
I was driving around with a couple friends, me in the backseat. I drank all of the syrup in the large bottle in the space of 20 minutes or so. I came up a half hour later to the first plateau and quickly needed to vomit, which I did on the side of the road. My friends smoked some weed and decided to head to the local bowling alley. I elected to stay in the car, throwing up one more time before they left to go inside. This is where my trip truly began.
If I didn't feel "dissociated" before, I surely was at this point. The rest of reality felt like a dream detatched from my immediate senses. I saw light trails and all sorts of false objects moving in the dark. This disturbed me, so I laid down in the backseat and tried to calm my stomach, which was acting up again. My vision was flanging heavily, and I was completely unable to walk in a useful manner.
I saw myself incased in a room with walls made out of a scaly material, and I came to the illogical conclusion that I was inside a whale. My brain envisioned whale bones at this point to accompany the assumption. Later on, the ceiling of the car began to resemble a wall of human hands. The hands seemed to be passing small index cards to one another. This was strange, but the hallucination was interrupted by my friends coming back to the car. I tried to explain my hallucinations but my words would not come out correctly.
We drove home and I laid down on the couch, and when I closed my eyes, I had the most amazing closed eye visuals I had ever seen. I saw vague pulsating balls of color, and I felt like I was moving towards them at a steady but incredible speed. Eventually, I drifted off to sleep at around 2:30am. I woke up around 9:00am, and I'm still feeling very...apathetic I guess. Very peaceful, but not hungover. I'm still light-sensitive though.
This was a great experience, but the vomiting was a major drawback. I'm still utterly intrigued by what this substance has to offer -- a unique experience unlike any other drug. Next time must involve pills, not the syrup. Another thing that bothered me was something that was absent from the first trip: the "robo-itch". At one point, I felt like I was going to scratch off my forehead and scalp myself it was so intense. It went away when I ignored it however. All in all, it was a positive experience, despite the aforementioned problems.
