Just got access to a lot of the 5th edition books on roll20, and ordered the starter set from Amazon that should be here in a while.

Does anyone play or have any interest in playing together? I have looked into some discords, and games on roll20, but feel itd be more fun to get a campaign together with friends.

I haven't played in a long time, only played once a couple months ago but our DM left so game fell apart. If any fellow nerds are interested, let's get a long distance game together!

I'm still kinda new to DnD (our current session will be a year old around spring, but of course since everyone has shit to do, we only had like 10-15 sessions so far) but so far I like it very much! What class do you play?

I used to play back when it was 2nd edition and third edition. Not really great fan of the new rules. They changed the game so much and I do t think it needed it but I still enjoy it from time to time.

Idk why it bothers me so much but like wizards can wear plate now. Just pure casters shouldn’t be able to run around with heavy armor without cost. I know they have to choose the feat but idk it’s just odd to me.

Currently playing BG3 actually but yeah table top is where it’s at.

NERDS, hold it call the Guinness Company ask for world records department. This could be the first game of Dungeons and Dragons that has a female participant.

Reviving this thread. Who wants DM!?
I ended up playing a couple games at the shelter I lived at around this time, but after that, it kinda faded from my bit of interests because it was kind of hard to find an online community that was into it, but not like, "sooooooo" into it that I was too novice for them and didn't know what was going on. I ended up returning the roll20 books cuz I needed money.

But I still might be down to play some games casually.
I've never played it.
Do you actually have to act stuff out like they do in stranger things ?
Nah, I don't think so. I'm sure some people play more super in depth, but probably most don't do all that. I mean it's just dialogue mostly, it's basically just a turn based RPG/board game, but you create the world and the characters/enemies. Which is cool cuz it's completely open-ended.

I asked ChatGPT for help constructing a world based on Bluelight and it only got me more excited!

I'm running a Vampire the Masquerade campaign using Roll20 for digital tabletop elements (combat etc.)

From my experience most of the acting is done by the DM, who creates the story and speaks the NPC dialogues. Some players can get into it more than others but the idea for a player is to create a character with a decent sort of back story and try to make decisions as the character would. Honestly a good DM really makes the game

It sounds fun. But I'm the type of person who spent an hour stewing over the character customization screen in Skyrim. And I've restarted my animal crossing island a million times. So I wonder how I would do with something like this.

i never played such a game.
i once worked wit a bunch of people who were totally into it and one day they convinced me to tag along but then something or other happened and we never get to play.
but inventing characters and backstories is something i do all the time.

Exactly. My good friend who DMs has always said: "the first character you make always ends up being you."
