I thought this could be a potentially funny thread. Anyways, what are some of the dumbest things you've heard?

For me...

1. I'm cycling off squats.
2. If you hold your breath during lifts you could die. (Told to me by a personal trainer watching me squat heavy.)
3. You should bench everyday.

Not much but that's all I can think of right now.

1. Eat every 2 hours to stoke metabolic fire.
2. If you don't eat protein for a couple of hours your muscle will fall off.
3. Eating fish will make your skin thin bro.
4. Calories don't matter bro.

Probably lot's more lol

1. Post workout anabolic window...
2. Steroids shrink your dick
3. Steroids makes you a cheater
4. Pretty much anything a supplement company has ever said.

Another... If you quit lifting your muscles will turn to fat. Like how exactly does one type of tissue turn into another? 8)

4. Pretty much anything a supplement company has ever said.

^^^ LAWL that kinda stupid advertisement is so goddamn true....it's strongly insinuated at least haha

4. Pretty much anything a supplement company has ever said.

I only trust the word of one particular supp company (AU owned and made - Bulk Nutrients). Everything I read from any other company immediately stinks of bullshit and marketing buzzwords lol

Just spend a few weeks posting in this sub and that's all the dumb shit you'll ever really need to hear.

Idk, this section doesn't seem nearly as bad as Bodybuilding.com or the like. I don't take steroids or intend to tho so I would have no clue if the advice as far as that is good or not.

Hey Voxide, whilst I welcome your return here to SD I have been disappointed by your quick reversion back to your old blunt style of posting... This is not helpful here in SD...

We are all part of a harm reduction forum dedicated to dispensing helpful but friendly advice to those that might not get that advice elsewhere..

You are correct in what you say, but unfortunately not how you say it... I have watched you recently bully several new members to the point where they probably won't post here again.. This does not help the forum, and most of all it does not help them...

I agree some people won't listen to whatever we advise them, they will do what they choose to do, with varying degrees of negative consequences to their health.. We don't want that to happen..!!!

However most will listen and learn if nurtured correctly in a friendly manner, that is what we wish to promote here...

We are very fortunate to have on-board recently moderators and members of considerable high standard here in SD, including yourself, they have a lot to share with us...

The reputation of the forum is only as good as those dispensing information, if every thread turns into a shitfight that information will get lost, we will not gain new members, we will not keep old members, the forum will go the same way as other forums, the best people will leave, everybody will lose out..!!

That will not happen here..!!!

They only changed everything... Lol
On another forum a guy was talking about coming off gear and staying only on slin for a Month to cruise... Wtf man...
Liver toxicity of orals is often overhyped. If you've seen what people use pre contest and Lord on peak week... I can already feel the inflammation... I'm surprised some don't look like a Simpsons character honestly.

Yeah people use ridiculously excessive amounts of gear when they dont have to, ive never been with that trend

Family Guy's Peter Griffin. "Lifting is all in your back. Make sure you do a jerking, twisting motion."

That episode with Bill Clinton.

Also someone told me I squat too low one time. I didn't know that too low and squat could be used in the same sentence without spontaneously combusting into thin air.

Sometimes the back of my hamstrings will touch my calves. Usually only happens on the first set or so when I'm just getting the blood flowing and warming up.

Someone told me my ab routine will make my waistline grow substantially. lol

HA or people saying that you don't have to work calves too much because you walk on them all day long. I actually have calves day or I do my routine before I go into legs.

Heh... Funny, although I have seen lifters sink it a bit lower than they had to in a few rare instances on powerlifting comp videos. But then again we're talking about powerlifting squats not ATG. Unfortunately tho this seems to be the norm in a lot of geared federations...

Guys are obviously strong as fuck but pretty stupid to have a rule book stating lifters must break parallel if none of the judges enforce it.

I could make a comment but I'm gonna try to refrain at this risk of totally derailing the thread lol... Basically tho it was just a video of geared powerlifters getting quarter squats passed in joke federations like the SPF and WPO.

I watched a personal trainer working with a new client on lower body. Started with squats and then moved to stiff legged deadlifts. Trainer had so much weight on the bar the poor guy was using his lower back to lift it. Had to jerk the weight to move it. He even complained that he didn't feel it in his hams, just his lower back. Trainer was clueless. I was in the rack next to it and heard it all.

Trainer was clueless.

Most personal trainers seem to be. Usually I'll see them do a lot of bosu ball bullshit at my gym with people that have just started out and don't even have any strength or balance. Yet the same trainers will tell you squatting heavy is bad for your knees, holding your breath during a lift will kill you and other assorted bullshit. HA!

Anyways, I wonder what this would look like with a squat suit?...

Me: dude, what are you running... sust? tren? halotestin?...
Personal trainer: huh
Me: come on man, all the personal trainers here are doing it, look at that black guy
Personal trainer: ...pshh that guy isn't even big
Me: so what's the cycle man you aint even gotta lie to me I already know
Personal trainer: really man, it's the genetics people don't know
Me: dude, I saw you repping more than 3 plates
Personal trainer: pshh nah, I can do 400 lbs
Me: 400 lbs naturally, give me a break
PT: You don't understand I'm a powerlifter... I've been training powerlifting... years
Me: Dude, naturals can MAYBE bench 1.5-1.75x body weight I know what I'm talking about
PT: Whatever I say you're not going to believe me. You can drug test me any time.
Me: "Hmm, how exactly would I drug test you... what a stupid comment." Nah man, there's always a way around drug tests like using short acting drugs and hgh and taking diuretics etc.
PT: *Face turning stark red, breathing hard* Whatever man you're not going to believe me.
