News Drug policy group condemns psychedelic research association for response to B.C. sex assault claims

why?

what pressure could maps exert on them to force them to change their mind?

the threat of legal action, perhaps? well, if so, the cdpc can't have had much faith that their earlier statement was, in fact, true...

alasdair

MAPS withdrew from CDPC over this, not sure the details, but it does seem pressure related.

The coalition represents more than 50 organizations across the country, including MAPS Canada until very recently.

MAPS Canada executive director Scott Bernstein said in an email that his organization no longer belongs to the coalition, "because they failed to consult with us before issuing this statement."

Its hard to tell what the CDPC thinks it true here as they took nearly three months to issue a retraction that is short, vague and really explains nothing.

At first glance it certainly does give the impression you suggest, that Meaghan or those around her have been unreliable with the truth - which has me thinking it is time to ask for some of the transparency the CDPC were patting themselves on the back over earlier on this topic.

edit. I thought google shadowban meaghan's gofundme and posted here, then figured out it was just no longer active, ooops

There should be laws, controls in place to see that it doesn’t happen again rather than scrapping the entire body of research and practice.

what does scrapping the entire body of research and practice.

have to do with anything in this issue let alone this thread?

None of the advocates involved with this are book burning morons,

but ironically this thread is about a very book burny event...

on the law side, it is notable they may be using dr phil tactic with the horny imp being unlicensed.
