I've been taking 0.5 mg of klonopin every night for about 3 months and have also been trying to lose weight at the same time. I eat under 200 calories a day (fruit or vegetables only) and go on the treadmill for at least 2 hours, this used to make me drop 3 - 4 pounds a day (wasn't exercising as much then too and was drinking 1000+ calories worth of monster everyday lol, I'm down to 1 or 2 a day) but now I'm lucky to lose a pound a day. Does anyone think the klonopin could be slowing down my metabolism or something? It doesn't prevent me from working out everyday or make me lazy so I really don't understand. Also, no comments about how I'm eating please, it works for me and always has. Just wondering about the klonopin because I'm doing way more than I did when I wasn't on it and was dropping pounds quickly.. Thanks

Eating this little is VERY bad for you. You may lose weight at first, but your body slowly goes into starvation mode and starts holding on to everything you put into it. Even bariatric diets consist of 600 calories day[SUPER]-1[/SUPER], and these are reserved for people that are like 500lbs. When I first opened this thread, I thought I'd be saying something like "Clonazepam, like all benzodiazepines, inhibit GI motility, so it may make you gain some. Benzodiazepines also tend to make people get the munchies," though, you're not taking much at all, and you're not eating shit. NO, THE CLONAZEPAM IS NOT KEEPING YOU FROM LOSING WEIGHT. YOU'RE ARE JUST PLATEAUING AND THIS IS A NORMAL THING.

When you're on a diet, losing 5-7 pounds the first week, followed by 1-2 pounds the following weeks are good results. With you losing weight this quickly, when you decide to go off of the diet and eat regularly, you're just going to gain everything back and possibly quite a bit more weight. Do yourself a favor and start eating normally again for a least a week, and then go on an 800 calorie diet (that being the least that you eat!) and you will lose weight in a much safer way and KEEP the weight off.

Also, quit drinking 5+ Monsters a day. You're weakening your heart enough by eating so little.

^^^ Holy shit... this...

Eating a starvation diet with shitloads of caffeine is a good way to have a circulatory collapse one day when you overexert yourself. Your body does eventually realize that your energy expenditure is way out of whack and it will try to keep as many calories on your frame as possible. This is so you don't waste away to nothing...

Continued fasting is much less effective than eating a fairly balanced but reasonably low-calorie diet. You do need to maintain a certain level of glucose, minerals, etc in your body or you'll start breaking down. Plus if you eat properly, you'll have more energy to excercise.

Nobody's going to tell you that eating 200 cal a day is healthy, just FYI.

Yeah dude, losing a pound a day is ridiculous, and you say that's SLOW? What you're losing in all likelihood is not so much fat, but muscle. Your body is going into starvation mode, and you will have all sorts of problems including a massive drop in the efficacy of your immune system. When you exercise a lot on top of this, your body is going to burn muscle tissue as well, in addition to putting you in severe fatigue, risk of shock and cardiovascular distress. Please don't do this. If you want to lose weight, figure out your rough daily caloric requirement including basal metabolic rate, and then reduce this by NO MORE THAN 300-500 CALORIES DAILY. Then you can exercise either cardio or weight bearing starting at 30-40 min per day, no more than 5 days per week. Your body needs time to recover, and those days off are critical for muscle building. If you're trying to increase bulk muscle then drink a protein shake after weight lifting, and eat as much protein per day as you can -eggs and bacon for breakfast, chicken for dinner and so on - just stick to low fat meats and very low carb intake (potatoes, rice, bread, refined flour in pastries and others, etc.) Whatever you do, avoid sugar like the plague, especially drinking it. Nothing puts on weight faster than guzzling a pop or two daily that contains a pound of sugar. Drink only water, or after exercising, gatorade or similar with electrolytes.

I really doubt that 0.5 mg Kpin will have much effect on weight one way or the other, but as it's a depressant, I suppose minor weight gain is possible. However you can easily counteract this with the regimen I described above. Oh yeah, if you have access to a workout facility with a pool, I found this one of the best ways to work out and lose weight - do your workout/lifting, drink a protein shake, then cool down with a few laps of swimming and treading water. Swimming is great as it works out all muscles at once, and is good cardio plus the cool water will help you recover from your workout.

Thank you everyone, I'll try and work on my diet, I did notice a lot of weakness today and wasn't able to get on the treadmill, I was wondering if it was anxiety or not but I would rather eat enough to have the energy to work out nonetheless. Thanks again! I appreciate it
