Does it annoy you when some ppl refer to marijuana as "dope"?

This is a major pet peeve of mine. Seems the older generation does this a lot. Was makin small talk with some older guy, prolly in his 60s or so when on the city bus.. He was tellin me he used to smoke a lot of "dope" years ago, and I replied asking if he was on crack back then or somethin. He said "Hell no! The only drug i have ever done is marijuana". I said oh my bad, I usually only refer to hard drugs like heroin or cocaine as "dope". That kinda brought on an awkward silence but my mom also calls weed dope and can't help but correct her terminology when she does.
 
it annoys me when people act like their slang terms are the only accepted ones
 
It drives me insane, for one when some is like I'm getting some dope I'll share with you and then I'm all excite inside and then they call their weed dealer WTF :(

Okay then, but go around tell most younger recreational drug users that you used to smoke a lot of dope and most people would automatically think u r talking about crack or meth or an addictive narcotic. When I want marijuana I call the weed guy, when I wanna score a rock I call the dope man.
 
Dope is what my dad calls weed. It doesn't annoy me though, I think it's funny. I had a friend who would (jokingly but consistently) refer to weed as 'the hootie mack'. He said it was what Vanilla Ice called it when he tried to be all gangsta during his attempted early nineties comeback. It's easily my favourite term for cannabis.

It really makes me laugh when people say 'marijuana cigarette' as well.

I really hate this. People the dope man has real dope marijuana which isn't dope it's so natural it's becoming legal!
 
I was getting a marijuana virgin high once, this nerdy kid that said he wanted to try weed. I was rollin up the j and he said "uh dont u need a filter?" I said what??? And busted out laughing..
 
I tried so hard educating him without sounding lime an asshole for him asking such a retarded question. I.said, Nooo dude, that would filter out the thc, which is what gets you stoned, you wouldnt want to filter that bro...

Motorist: Officer, i'll be honest I have a gram of "dope" on me.
Cop: Okay sir, I will need you to step out and place your hands on the hood, do you have any syringes on you or a crack pipe hidden anywhere?
Motorist, no sir!! nothing like that, just some rolling papers and visine.
Cop: Oh ?? I see, you are carrying marijuana on your person..
 
Depending on who im talking to if I just say "you got any party supplies" they usually know what im talking about
 
Here in London some people say 'puff' which is a bit annoying. I enjoy it when people say ital, as in "ital shit, blud." Or: "Anyway I'm bunin' on this fat ital and this geezer comes up to me and he's like: 'yo cuz!', and this me: 'do I know you, fam?' and he's like... etc. etc." That's how we all talk in the LDN.
