Does Fentanyl exist in OZ/NZ?

Sure Does!

I see it everyday on the ward I work on in hospital, it's also commonly used in ED and Perioperative for analgesic and adjunct to anaesthesia. I suppose the reason it's not on the black market it there is very stringent control. It is treated as a Schedule 8 drug, stock counted everyday and co administered by two nurses. Additional to this It is not prescribed in the community that I know of, and if it is, it is to be monitored by nursing staff on a daily basis.
Actually have seen it prescribed in the community but in patch form only to Aged Care Residents, once again monitored by RN's under the guideline of DDA administration
