What does this have to do with being right, it seems every post someone makes you quickly take offense and try to degrade them. You can taper on xanax alone, though it is possible I recommended klonopin cause you didn't even mention any side effects from it then you're quick to talk down once again like I'm supposed to know your medical history. No one is saying you're taking benzos to get high either, but in reality that doesn't make a difference they still have the same effect and there isn't much of a difference at all from being addicted or being dependent, the same issues go along with it. The reason why I recommended a good addictionologist is they deal with addictive medicine and that includes Xanax as well.
You should take a look into the Ashton Manual, its a very good tutorial on tapering off benzos in particular with diazepam. I'd highly recommend giving your doctor a copy, it serves as a very good guideline.
