I was conflicted on which section to post this but I feel if youre involved negatively in the legal system like this, it would be in the Dark Side.

Anyways I live in Northern California and I am currently on misdemeanor probation and Prop 36. In many counties up here, there is PC1000 at the lowest, then Prop 36, and then Drug Court being the most serious. All are probation methods related to drug offenses where instead of serving your sentence, you can complete drug treatment programs and follow up with the courts monthly or bimonthly sometimes weekly as requirments of your probation.

Now I have looked up the difference between Prop 36 and Drug Court but I am not finding any answers. I think Drug Court is meant for felony charges or given after many continuous drug crimes. Drug Court appears to require more treatment and aftercare but both Prop 36 and Drug Court clients must call in daily to probation to see if their color has to been picked to come and test. Sometimes I would have to test 3 times a week.

Anyways I would like to know the difference between the two because in my county and some other Northern Cali counties, there is a fine line dividing the seriousness of the two but never really expanded upon by anyone.

If anyone smart in California can help me I would really appreciate it.

Thank you
