Did society create Religion

what do you mean by a 'physical' shape in a virtual reality?

alasdair

That is an idea I should have worded slightly differently. The idea is to qualify the physical with natural-like to say that you put like-(natural physical) shape into the virtual reality. Like flowing energy would build certain shapes and you put the perfect shape particles and perfect shape life forms you can build with them inside of the universe.

It's like the steps of building a divine art life.

Like rain drops. Physics describes that nature really likes raindrop-like shapes, right? I'm trying to say "rain drops in virtual reality"

You are making absolutely no sense. If you cannot communicate your idea sensibly I really question your ideas worth.

You really aren't making a whole lot of sense, are you trying to say another world created are own and we are in a virtual program? Because I have heard something along those lines before.

I don't really get how what I'm saying is really all that complex. Rain drops are a natural shape of fluid dynamics, when resistance is applied to a traveling body of liquid matter the front curves and the back forms a tail right? This is a "natural tendency". This universe when you look at all the kinds of forces it has unlocks many natural tendencies of physical motion and masters them. To me this universe looks more like mastery of nature with physics and not a natural phenomenon.

The idea is the universe is a virtual program of natural physical tendencies. A lot of scientists do not rule out intelligent design, you would not be completely objective to do so. I would not trust a scientist that says no to intelligent design remaining a theory.

But religion means no thinking just obeying

That's not true. There are religious scholars all over the world engaged in deep philosophical discourse all the time, even at academic levels. Hence theology schools and what not. My friend is about to do his masters degree in theology at a very rigorous institution.

The religion you're referring to is the politics and social control of governance.

People at the obedience level don't have properly developed critical thinking skills and inquiry, which may or may not be due to dogma. Factors like standard of living, access to higher education, social and political climate all affect this. Keep in mind that in such environments, what people really think about their faith may be different than what they're displaying to the outside world. In conformist societies everyone seems to act blindly but behind closed doors you may get a different point of view.

If you think that no religious person has ever interrogated their own path on a deep level then I question your understanding of spirituality in general.

Religion is a contentious issue and I am not here to challenge anyone's beliefs. However the question of whether or not society created religion seems to have a rather obvious answer; of course it did! To dissect this viewpoint further we need to look at how humans tend to deal with different problems. Firstly the problem of not having an answer to where we came from. I think it's only natural for humans to try and answer this question initially from a primitive level and progressively become more detailed as our species evolved. This is not religion however, religion in my opinion came from our need to group people together. We group a set of people who believe in one thing and we group another set who believe in something else. This may seem harmless but as these groups grow into institutions they try to control people to believe their teachings as they want maximum control. This leads, unfortunately, to oppression. It may seem like religion is the root of this problem but I would argue that in a world without religion we would simply separate people due to different criteria. People's beliefs have very little to do with it but more that society creates groups which in turn battle for control. The initial good intentions are polluted by individuals who are concerned only with their self interests. Society didn't create beliefs they are something which we all have individual control over however, society did create religion.

The whole foundation of Christianity is based on the idea that intellectualism is the work of the Devil. Remember the apple on the tree? Okay, it was the Tree of Knowledge. "You eat this apple, you're going to be as smart as God. We can't have that."

So, when Adam and Eve were in the Garden of Eden, if you go for all these fairy tales, that "evil" woman convinced the man to eat the apple, but the apple came from the Tree of Knowledge. And the punishment that was then handed down, the woman gets to bleed and the guy's got to go to work, is the result of a man desiring, because his woman suggested that it would be a good idea, that he get all the knowledge that was supposedly the property and domain of God. So, that right away sets up Christianity as an anti-intellectual religion. You never want to be that smart. If you're a woman, it's going to be running down your leg, and if you're a guy, you're going to be in the salt mines for the rest of your life. So, just be a dumb fuck and you'll all go to heaven. That's the subtext of Christianity.

Eve was made from Adam's rib, so why does he get off the hook for her behavior? Heh.

There are so many ways of interpreting the Garden story, especially in the earlier translations from the Koine language. One take that resonates with me is that eating from the Tree represents entering the world of duality, which is all that mind is. I don't think it means that ignorance or stupidity are the keys to the Divine... you can be as smart as you want, but if all you see is separation then you're living without God -- hence "Hell", which originally was merely the absence of God. The Hadic aspects only got added in the Middle Ages, thanks to popularization of Dante's Inferno, which was a work of fiction.

There were also other women in the Garden who got expelled before Eve, like Lilith and Sarah, for various reasons. It's just the old world misogyny, as usual.

beyond the tribe, the basic state is an ethnic chiefdom or kingdom, based on shared language and culture. when a state needs to expand beyond that, the binding factor becomes a religion that appeals to multiple ethnicities, which then becomes a tool of the state. it happen to christianity and buddhism, though the buddha foresaw it and warned against it

Absolutely. From early paganism, religions have been used by society to "fill the gaps" that a lack of understanding of our world left before the the acceleration of science.

For example, What's that big burning circle in the sky that goes away every night? Must the the sun god...I noticed when we sacrifice a lamb it comes up every morning, therefore we should worship this sun god and abide by these rules and so on.

Religion became more advanced with the emergence of Christianity and of course the Bible etc is written by man. Religion gave life meaning, provided context and allowed society to become more structured. Therefore it was honed and directed by states for their own purposes and politics and religion became more intertwined. Regardless of intentions, whether you believe in God or not, religion in its organized form is completely created and designed by society to impose order and justify actions of those in power, always has done (think the crusades) and does to this day.

Lets be honest the sun is our god as it gave us everthing

And we can see it we can feel it and we know it is the driving force of our solar system so lets ask ourselves were all the ancients that worshipped the sun or Ra or any other titles whos to say they were wrong as they worshipped the sun long before any of the evil religions popped up . They did it for a lot longer that 2000 years so called christianity and islam even less and they are based on the torah which was around maybe twice as long. And the book is just fairytales.. I know the sun keeps our world going not a big imaginary googly moogly in the sky....
ITS CALLED THE SUN
