Hi, I'm new to Bluelight, and joined firstly because the information relating to diazepam online is either a little too academic for my needs, or relating to overdose, withdrawal or recreational use.
I checked the FAQ relating to benzodiazapines, but they related mostly to withdrawals also. I also ran a search but most posts relating to diazepam were questioning how to use the drug to avoid cognitive function, not how to avoid affecting it.
If i am in any way wrong in posting this here, please advise me and I'll remove it - sorry in advance!
Basically, I'm studying (well, cramming) for a huge exam tomorrow and am constantly facing roadblocks of anxiety and panic everytime I realize how much content I need to learn in such a short period. The usual cognitive techniques to combat anxiety aren't quite cutting it in this situation. My GP prescribed me some generic diazepam (2mg) a few days ago after I suffered a panic attack during another exam. I don't have any experience with this drug other than a few isolated occasions in previous years where I was utilizing it purely to get to sleep after a night out and was unaware of the dosage as it was given to me by a friend. I want to take some so I can stop experiencing the anxiety symptoms which make it so difficult to retain information, but I'm worried it will make me too drowsy, hence doing more harm than good.
Is anybody with more experience able to advise me if the dose of 2mg is likely to make me too drowsy to get any work done, or effect my memory as higher doses are sometimes known to, considering I have little to no tolerance and am not currently using any other drugs or medications?
Also, is anybody able to advise me if a low dose of caffeine (coffee, not caffeine pills) would have any nasty effects if I had previously taken diazepam?
Thanks very much in advance for your help, and once again sorry if I am posting an inappropriate topic or posting in an incorrect area.
