Detoxing - who's done it?

Coolio said:
Uh. Your personal experiences mean absolutely nothing when it comes to this. Do you know what placebo effect is? Your belief in the effectiveness of a cure works BETTER than most mainstream or prescription drug cures, even if all you're doing is eating sugar pills.

To then say that sugar pills work is fucking retarded.

So talking from personal experience is fucking retarded is it?

Doesn't make sense to me. This thread is about who has done it anyways, not how retarded people are for believing in it.

But trust me ... i *know* it worked. I am sure you can detox more natural ways as well and since I have been learning about it more from educating myself from doing lots of reading - i will do it a natural way next time. But the way I have done has indeed worked. You can get as angry and nasty as you like - I am still going to think what I do about it because I have personally *done* it.

Detoxing is nonsense. Everyday I go to the toilet and take a big dump. That's my body detoxing itself.

Hahaha I totally agree.....Daily exercise and nutrition is key here, like most people have already stated...The only thing I've heard that's somewhat worthwhile is getting a real enema but it shouldn't be necessary if you stick to a strict diet, exercise regimen

Not true. If you feel like hell it's because your body is starving for nutrients. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but "detoxing" is a myth. It's a billion $$ industry that is useless. Your body detoxifies itself. You may lose some weight while doing this but you'll gain it all back and then some because your metabolism has slowed down from lack of food.

Eat clean and exercise daily, that is what you need to stay healthy.

I agree 100%.

drugfukkdrockstar: It is well known that fasting has beneficial effects on the body. Don't you imagine that the benefits you got were simpy because you fasted, not because you "got rid of toxins"?

Personal experience. You can claim detoxing is BS, but until you actually try it and see what it feels like, then you're simply regurgitating opinions. Please state them as such, refrain from saying they are the absolute truth and be willing to see other points of view. It will benefit you in the long run. :)

Detoxing is just the first step. Do these cleanses and I dare you not to tell me that you feel better than you've ever felt in your life:

Colon cleanse
Full body fat/lymphatic cleanse
Liver/gallbladder cleanse
Kidney/bladder cleanse
Heavy metal cleanse
Parasite cleanse
Candida cleanse

Many other ways to help the process i.e. giving yourself a dry-brush massage each day, full body deep tissue massage, stretching the muscles, sweating with an infrared sauna, fasting...

This will rid your body of toxins that accumulated througout your life from daily living, eating processed foods, drinking & showering in tainted water, breathing pollution etc.
Face it, we live in a toxic environment. People get sick, people get diseases.

The next step is limiting the ingestion of toxic substances. This can include:
eating only organic food, drinking pure water, installing a shower filter, using fluoride-free toothpaste, switching to non-toxic cleaning supplies, getting metal out of your dental work, eliminating aspartame & hydrogenated oils from your diet, not eating pasteurized dairy products, not using nonstick cookware, refraining from using toxic skin-care products, eliminating fluorescent lights & air conditioning, avoiding dry-cleaning, using a vacuum cleaner with a hepa filter, quitting drugs, alchohol, cigarettes.

This will limit (not stop) the ingestion of poisonous substances. Detoxing is an ongoing process and being truly healthy means looking at everything you do in your daily life.

You must reduce stress. Deep-breathing, meditation, excercise, walking. These are but a few stress-reducing activities.
Also: not driving while using a cell phone (driving less is a good idea), laughing, smiling, helping people, having sex, getting out of debt.... great ways to reduce stress.

Then you must address your nutrional deficiencies. (A whole book in itself)

And hey guess what, I'm not trying to sell you anything. It's naive to think that the only reason someone recommends something to you is because they're trying to scam you. If what they're selling doesn't fit into your belief system then of course it's natural to be skeptical.

THINGS THAT ARE GOOD FOR YOU COST MONEY.
THINGS THAT ARE BAD FOR YOU COST MONEY.
NEWSFLASH:
EVERYTHING COSTS MONEY.

I was taught by someone who wasn't selling anything, they were looking out for my health and answering my questions as to why I was getting sick and not receiving adequate help from medical 'professionals'.

Since my lifestyle change I haven't been sick, I haven't taken any prescription/non-prescription drugs and I haven't been forced to see a doctor.

I HAVE experienced clarity of mind, increased mental focus, increased amounts of energy, a profound sense of well-being, a functional digestive system, clear skin....the list goes on.

I don't recommend this to everyone.
There are no incurable diseases, only incurable people.

Don't let sick ignorant individuals try to tell you that you can't be healthy, or that you're as healthy as you're ever gonna get.

Peace to all you motherfuckers :D

and yet life expectancies are climbing by the day! its a paradox!!

Being pumped full of drugs each day, being fat, ageing quickly, being decrepit, incontinent, kept alive by machines in a hospital is great way to extend your life! Have fun!

Be proactive in your early years and the latter part of your life will be enjoyable, you'll look younger, retain your range of motion, be free of diseases etc.

we're talking quality, not quantity
