Desfontainia Spinosa is a plant native to Central and South America. This plant contains the cucurbitacins spinoside A and spinoside B. These compounds seem to produce hallucinogenic effects when ingested (typically in a brew), yet do not seem to belong to the psychedelic or deliriant families of hallucinogens. From what I read on Erowid, I have surmised that it is a kind of atypical dissociative, being that it does not work on the NMDA receptors. It's technically classified as a steroid, which is interesting.

Have any of you had experiences with this plant? What do you all think... deliriant or dissociative?
