Define Ur Religion or Theology

Okay, the real reason I started this thread is to find out the ultimate goal of Islam and Judaism . . . like what is Ur idea of "Heaven on Earth"?

My idea is a civilisation without money, laws and international boundaries.

When/if a Messiah returns, that's the way it's gonna be.

No rapture into the sky, 72 virgins or goium-as-slaves for the "Chosen People".

Jesus, if he existed was the logos or logic of God (i.e., "In the beginning was the Logos." -- John 1:1

I see these Moslims having 6 children saying "Allah will provide." This is NOT logical!
 
when everyone has holy spirit...

holding the intent to love higher than any other priority.
think of the implications of those words.

my experience of 'heaven on earth' is basically anywhere that is pristine nature .... when i am just smelling the crisp fresh air and feeling the wind on my face...

heaven on earth is watching a sunrise from a sacred mountain over a forest valley with ocean just off on the horizon

it's really just a state of being ~

and when we can get over this idea that nature is up in the hills, and realize that its all nature... its all apart of the circle of life .. and start applying the way we live with these natural processes, and learn to find a balance... then i guess we'll have created heaven on earth...

can't hurt to dream (((~O~)))
 
in fact, its here right now ~ i can feel it if i just take a breath and go within
 
Some days I'm an absolute monist/pantheist, focused on the fact that really there has only ever been or will be one essential substance in the universe and we are all it. Other days I am a Chaos Mage who figures that I am free to hijack any spiritual concept or practice to get whatever I can out of them. Most days I'm pretty secular humanist. Humans seem relatively tangible and secularism is relatively mentally stable, so its a good place for me.
 
What's with the messianic necessity some people have?

If we all put our heads together and think rationally we can solve ALL of earth's problems within one generation, that is, if people accepted radical change and tried a few different things.
 
I guess you could say I'm messianic, but only in the sense that each one of us must realize 'I AM the messiah.' It's up to you to save you. And it's well within your capabilities, if you're able to grasp this. And in so doing, you save more than half the world -- all of the half that's inside you, plus whatever good this makes you affect upon the half that's external.

Religion? Well... Mrs. Doors and I have been going to a Tibetan Buddhist group recenty, so color me a Tibetan Buddhist, for now.

My spiritual outlook or worldview is decidedly universalist / perennial philosophy.
 
I rather like Nihilism. Ideologically, it makes perfect sense in my mind. There is nothing true, and the only purity comes from destruction and deconstruction.
 
heaven can't exist on earth... earth is hell, and then we get to leave...

well, unless you wanna stay... then i guess heaven can exist on earth.

so i suppose, to create heaven on earth... follow your namesake, trip balls (been a while, can't remember if your pre or post and dunno if it changed) and start thinking real different.
 
^^ And its always the same damn thing over and over again, year in, year out, decade after decade, century after century... don't people ever get bored??
