Hey y'all.

FIrst time poster in this forum, newly your local mod, longtime bluelighter.

I don't want to be someone who stymies legitimate discussion. I don't want to police politcal correctness. I don't want to be oppressive.

I want to cultivate a space, as much as possible, for thoughtful discussion and a bit of decency, courtesy, and decorum.

Reading through some topics here shows me that there's a dearth of these things in this space sometimes, and that's part of why we're all stressed out and at odds with one another. I frankly do not care what your voting style is, who you back, what you've read, or whether you even agree with me.

What I do care about is that we show respect to one another and share our thoughts in a way that demonstrates that. Let's not contribute to anger, fear, misunderstanding and paranoia. It's that kind of stuff that leads to things like people being shot at, and I do not like that stuff one bit. I certainly hope that you don't either.

Please don't hesitate to reach out to me directly if you've got any concerns about how someone's writing you on here - I will keep it in confidence and hope to help navigate these things a day at a time.

I'm not here all of the time, but I will try to be responsive, so reach out if you need anything.

In loving service
