I don't even know how to describe it, but ill try.

When a close family member approaches me extremely emotional, whether its out of of sadness or anger, I find myself utterly confused. I don't know how to react, because I honestly don't feel anything. It makes me come across as insensitive, or uncaring.. And that isn't what it is at all.

When people approach me for private conversation in an extremely emotional state, I seem to overload. Sometimes I get frustrated that the person is being too emotional with me, and I respond coldly. Sometimes I just sit in silence while the shouts find their mark, unable to react, because emotion isn't my language.

I know they just wan me to comfort them, and to tell them everything is ok, but I don't know how. I'm just not there.

I can talk with you about various subjects, and about a large amount of other things, but when the topic becomes what I personally feel, then the topic ceases to exist, because 0 times is 0, right?

Hey Eyes on the roll.. yep 0 x 0 = 0 so does 0 x a billion... Thought you may want to give these links a look as a possibility. on another note when a person comes up to you with an emotion you are "utterly confused", what do you mean buy that? I think confusion, the experience is considered an emotion. If you can try and put into words what being confused means or is to you. Let us know what you think of the possibility.

Hope you are doing well today.

My question for you is this: what does it feel like in your body when you feel that confusion? Is it simply confusion (i.e. without any real stress) or is it fear (obvious physical signs of fear)?

When I become confused, I become extremely frustrated, and I sometimes get flooded with anger. I'm good at dealing with anger though. I just blank out my mind, and take deep breaths. When I'm confused I feel powerless, cornered, uncomfortable.
