Hi everyone,

Recovery has been a long road. Mostly the addiction part. The recovery, eerily quiet, but effective. I sort of don't trust that I could not smoke a rock or slam a shard of presented one. But that's probably normal.

Anyway, the title of this thread is my cliche phrase to express how, for those of us who are not super-duper emotionally attached to people, it's sort of a damned if you do, damned of you don't, society.

In the USA, fortunately for those who have an education, suppressing the gift of empathy is actually beneficial to success. I mean shit, do I even need to mention the orange man? 'nuff said.

However, that doesn't mean that society is forgiving of such cut-throat qualities. In fact, there is a strong undercurrent of calling everything that feels icky-wicky, "manipulation".

For example, you make a joke at a party, and I don't feel the laugh coming. I wish I did, you gave it an A+ effort, but I just, unfortunately, don't find it funny. Well, I may be called "rude", "insensitive", or "weirded", "creepy", and all synonyms that taste like sharp cinnamon.

However, if I were to "mirror" (another term with a mostly negative connotation) the groups reactions, then it would be more acceptable (on the surface), but, God forbid someone finds out that I didn't find your joke funny 🫨😲😳😱🤯🙀😮😧🫨😱😲😳🙀, I'm being "manipulative".

Yes, a dramatic example, not all that riveting or even problematic, but please look past the simplicity of the example and to the bigger picture.

Now, I am blessed with being an able bodied white male. But in the system, I've came across many home boys and cracker jacks that we're getting bent over by mental health staff who barely speak English for having naturally occuring emotions that just don't fall perfectly in line with societal standards.

Yeah, that part sort of pisses me off, so I'll stop here.

Edit - ayt, I pulled it together for you. Let me end this way, instead - we are not so different, you and I.

... in other words there is a problem that needs to be sussed out more than likely a pharmaceutical or many. see it everyday (almost ... not today).

seems the same for the super attached as well... at least in my experience. trying to figure out if this is "healthy" for me but surely there is a balance to find as with most i have run across. idk. and then everything changes. wth? haha adapt or die (which i do not mind either).
I will agree that "recovery" or anything else is life long and being mindful of consequences of what we choose to do.
Anyway welcome thanks for sharing how you feel about recovery. I have cut a lot of substances out of my life over the past 8-9 yrs but stopped "drinking" in 2000 as it was most problematic for me. Just too much af a liability so.... Not saying i havent had a beer or shot since but its rare and short lived.
Best in your journey,
Peace

People are so politically correct in many cases; A good joke will be ruined by a Social Justice Warrior. Not even one that isn't too offensive. Sure drugs and booze, but if someone tells a joke that someone, somewhere might find it mildly offensive.

Then here comes the drama. A shit fit that kinda kills the atmosphere of the place.

For sure, though Ptah brings up a good point that we all experience some form of marginalization. I think that's really what we should all try to understand.

My issue is all the cry babies, who are adults. They are easily manipulated and taught to hate America.

While praising every other country. The UK citizens seem to be angry at their government, also.

The end goal is a global government; you think I am paranoid? China, Russia, North Korea and probably Iran, do not want to answer to some governing bodies in Belguim.

They will try to use the instability of their currency as a provocation to start shit.
They can't buy unless they join and give power over their people to foreigners.
I smell war, nuclear. Hope the next president has the stomach for what could be a giant slaughter.

You go from cry baby to nuclear war pretty damn quick.

My issue, is I legit only met 1 famous person. And we barely got to know each other. I wish I knew more about the behind the scenes shit.

I look at the world as place where rich old billionaires think they can create a global government.

I bitched about it in the nineties and now if you look at how things are going, there will be war.

I am not a cry baby, I am a man who would die defending his house and probably take a few with me.

Ah, oh, that is rich.
Thirty years later you go up on flames shouting "I told you soooooooooo".
How heroic.
But wait, there's more, you also have an arsenal of weapons that could take down an entire small town, if you chose to do that.
My hero.
Do you get your medication delivered to you?

Never meet your heros

Look at Sean puffy Diddy daddy or whatever he is calling himself. There is an old saying: Never meet your heros.
You want to know, the behind the scenes shit. Read internet gossip and try to find reliable sources.

Look for good interviews on YouTube, and also reputable sources.

My pharmacy doesn't deliver scheduled meds.
Also, I am a capitalist,
Not any small town in Michigan.( we all are armed( alot)
I am not a protest type, but I would like you to know, you are closer, to the person you described than me.

I have been into conspiracies since the early 90's, now we are seeing the Veil lifted. There is no I told you so, crap.

Maybe I am man. More what I described.
That's the beauty of life.. we're all equally unimportant. And even those who are innovators, we are moving further from mother nature, the one mother who gave us all birth.

For sure.
Sort of off topic, but sort of on: just watched a couple episodes of that 90s kid show drama TV show on Discovery, about Schneider.. eh, yeah man like behind the scenes shit is nasty man.

Wishing that more people nut up and speak out like those brave interviewees.

Also, I'm writing a children's book to inspire hope and faith in humanity, centered around you and your presence, whether it be somewhere or nowhere, check it out bro:

How did all this begin. God.
