Dad catches kid smoking pot, sells hard to get christmas present on Ebay for $9000!

^LOL.
"Now I am going to sit here while you smoke this whole bag and play that fucking guitar, and we are not stopping till you have blisters on those fingers!"

Pun? Where?

I used Perfect Dark as an example, though, if that's what you meant. It was one of those hyped up games that people pre-ordered in fear of missing out on the first release.

I didn't know if it was part pun since you put quotes on 'rare' and Perfect Dark was produced by Rare. Funny coincidence I guess.

hahaha. Nice. But no I didn't make that connection when I made the post.

This is 1 of the most random threads ive ever read on Bl.....

I really dont think that selling the kids video gane is gunna stop him smoking weed, in fact at the rebellious age of 15 it may well have the opposite effect!!!

yea guess he will have to get high and learn to play real guitar become a punk rock devil worshipping superstar. Or maybe he will end up homeless and addicted to pot.

Hahaha.

I don't know, seems like a win-win situation here. Not only did the kid get high but the way the Dad "punish" him was by not giving him the worst and most annoying video game known to man (I don't care if you like GHIII - get a fucking real guitar and play real music, you hacks). That's tight.

haha, I love these comments regarding how stupid it is to play a video game about playing guitar instead of playing a real guitar.

I couldn't agree more. It's like those fishing games with the fishing rod controller. How stupid can you get?

heh, I get what your saying.

Possibly if my interests (taking drugs an assumption based on my membership to a drug related website, a correct assumption at that) were represented in a video game I might not find it a stupid idea, while other people may.

For example, if I enjoyed fishing as a hobby, I might find the video game an enjoyable addition to my collection.

However, I do play guitar, I do find the guitar video game a stupid idea.

i think its a great idea, it might get some kid interested in the real deal
but even if dippers are cool for kids, it mostly doesn't look too good on an adult ...

Dude, it's just a game.

A lot of games are just that, imitations of real life activities. Are you against playing sports games? What about racing games? 'Cause you could certainly play sports and race cars IRL.

For the record, I don't play video games at all. I stopped playing them when I was 14 y.o. or so...

You might be right.

I don't like sport though, so never really enjoyed sport games. Except Tony Hawks, because I used to enjoy skateboarding in real life. But I already mentioned this possibility (that I wouldn't understand the appeal of games representing activities which I don't participate in or enjoy), but like I said, I do play guitar and I still find the game stupid.

That's my opinion. I don't think I stated it as anything other than that.
