Was surprised to find little information about this - apparently an anti-histamine with 5-HT antagonist activity which increases appetite.

Sounds almost like mirtazapine (minus A/D effect & alpha adreno)

Anyway strange thing was I realised it can be bought OTC in the uk. I'm guessing its probably fairly useless but still anyone have any experiences or information to add?

It's structure seems vaguely reminiscent of cyclobenzaprine...probably no pharmacological relationship though.

Thanks, was having a stupid moment, knew I had heard of it before and was surprised nothing was on bluelight - cypro no cyclo - thank you.

It even had it on the pubchem link I posted - how stupid do I feel!

Anyway still slightly surprised its OTC but as has been mentioned its fairly mundane.

It's OTC in France too...
I tried it a few times, it feels like any other old generation antihistamine...

thats cause it is im pretty sure. 50 tablets I got today fo $4.55 just for the use of stopping opiate itch.

it has sedating effects for sure. i find them more sedating than dramamine, cos dramamine turns my thought process loopy meaning i cant get to sleep.. 2mg worked well with valium and one beer for a nice nap.

Nevertheless, there seems to be something about that bicylic framework that makes it particularly amenable as a starting point for the pursuit of novel compounds. Just by running some QSAR based searches, a talented medicinal chemist could probably make some interesting novel contributions to the drug library. But in terms of getting high, I dont really see that this is a spring-board into recreational compounds with uses outside of the clinic.

reboxetine and cyproheptadine

Interesting feedback using this and reboxetine.

I will add, then when combining with Cyproheptadine HCl, it produced some pretty weird visual hallucinations.

Lying in bed, the ceiling of my loft appeared to be a retractable dome, which opened, then closed, then came down on top of me at a much more rapid pace than I was comfortable with.

This was only a short time after I thought I was completely awake, marveling at how far off target most of the jokes were in Flight of the Concords, then instantaneously finding myself in REM, then awake, then REM, then SuperDome meets Poltergeist.

^ But what does one case study mean? Nothing.

Like all subjective experiences it proves nothing. However the term case study would be inaccurate rather this is one person's experience. Which is about 90% of the postings on this site.

Would this compound be suitable for the abortion of an LSD or other hallucinogenic experience?

^Yes, it is cheap and quite effective for this purpose. It has been borne out in research that the stuff antagonizes LSD effect.

It is also a terrific sleep aid IME, which increases sleep quality. Far better than the serotonergic antihistamines available OTC in the United States.

I haven't tried it at high doses, but while anticholinergic deliriums are always a complicated/problematic endeavor, I suspect that by virtue of dopaminergic activity rather than serotonergic this stuff may be more benign than, say, diphenhydramine in some ways for "recreational" purposes.

I'll say more later.
