Straight to the point.

Im new to the scene of experimenting with drug use, im not asking for prices or places to get them, im just asking, for a first time user, what would you recommend (if at all) the type of ecstasy to take ?

Maybe you will look upon this negatively, but atleast i probably wont end up taking the wrong shit that could make me end up fkd up dead in a nightclub somewhere.. :\

Anyway, whether you choose to reply to this post or not is entirely up to you, but if you want to criticise, then please save it for elsewhere.

I suggest reading the Enlighten harm reduction pamphlet on MDMA (ecstasy). Ecstasy these days is simply another word for a pill sold on the street. It may contain real ecstasy (MDMA) or adulterants, including amphetamines, ketamine, and the most dangerous adulterant PMA.

If you want to minimise the risks I suggest buying a reagent tester. This wont tell you exactly what is in your pill, however it will give you an indication that combined with user reports from sites such as bluelight or pillreports, and used with multiple kinds of reagents can give you a good idea of what is in the pill you have/about to purchase. Have a look on Enlighten, Pillreports and Erowid and read, read, read, learn, learn, learn.

There isnt really different types of ecstasy to take as the term usually only applies to the drug MDMA. There are things quite similar though, like MDA. You should check out this link to find all the info you need

Yeah, ive heard a fair bit as such about it, and yeah i can only read and try to take it all in i guess..

Few Questions though;

1) How much (approx.) is a reagent tester, and where abouts can you get them from ?

2) Have you yourself ever taken "MDMA" before ? Or that there believed within ?

3) Are there any pills that are designed specifically for first time users? Or is that pushing it ? :P

-- Ahh, yeah see this is where i get confused, from what i hear on the streets and what not, everything known as ecstasy contains MDMA, so when you read sites such as pillreports.com it becomes difficult to understand.

Whats the actual substances that are taken on pillreports, and what are the easy going ones there? Heh, i know i can read several reviews, but people react to them differently.

If its your first time, you need to get ur body to adjust to MDMA..
So if you get a real strong pill (you will know it's strength by reading reports and asking questions on bluelight and pillreports), you will get "smacked out" meaning you will feel all hot and heavy and feeling crappy, not wanting to dance... Though if u take only half that strong pill, or even a quater, you will feel awesome..

Weak pills also known as beginner pills are alright cause they contain a low dose of MDMA, but if ya get a strong pill, it can last ya all night :D
 
Ah okay, yeah i suppose ill have to have a look through it.

I mean, im not really open to a selective range of pills here, which is somewhat awkward, thats why i figured if there was something that everyone knew was a weak pill, perhaps i could ask for that.

If you are serious about taking steps to have the safest experience possible, then firstly buy a reagent tester. They are sold at a number of places across Sydney, and are readily available online. You'll be looking at around $25. All instructions on how to use the tester come with it.

Look up Pill Reports and write down a couple of pills that have recently received decent reviews in your area. Test before you buy, if for some reason you can't test, don't buy. Once obtained a pill that according to the tester contains MDMA, set up a room with dim light and plenty of your favourite music to listen to, a large bottle of cold water, some chewy and maybe a lollipop. Eat half of the pill, and then just relax, listen to the music, and chat with your company. If after around 2 hours, you feel like eating the rest, do so. Just sip the water regularly (every 30 minutes is fine if you're relaxing), and enjoy yourself!

Don't worry about the strength of the pill, just worry about the test result. Providing that the pill contains MDMA, there is little else to worry about. If you are still worried about the strength of the dose, you could eat only a quarter of the pill, and have more later on. There is nothing wrong with taking it slow!
 
Things to note:
  • you will never come across a pill with cocaine in it
  • you will never come across a pill with heroin in it
  • unless you test you have a good chance of getting amphetamine/ketamine pills
  • most people have no idea what is in the pill so dont believe them, find out yourself
  • i think even 120mg (optimal dose) is fine for a first experience, MDMA is a profound experience, that is very reassuring throughout

With the tester, does that render the pill useless after testing?

Have any of you taken a pill that contained other substances, MDA, MDE etc ?
 
For basic testing information have a read of the enlighten reagent kit pamphlet. Your asking a lot of questions easily answered by using the search function on bluelight. Have a read there, that should be able to sort you out.
 
Cowboy: 120mg ie 120ug's? dude, red 3's were 76mg's/ug's... now, tell me this, u seriously think 1 and a 1/2 of these dumped wouldn't smack a newbie?
 
If it is your first time, just make sure you are in a comfortable setting. The setting and the people you are with are very important when you are using xtc, and that is not just for first time use. Unless you know somebody that is cooking it though, you will never really know exactly what you are getting. However, good luck and lets hope you enjoy your first experience. Let us all know how it goes. :)

A4. Most pillreports will give a user rating where people describe how strong they thought the pill was. If you find reports which say a pill is strong, you can always start with half a pill. It's always a good idea to try half before a whole one with a new batch anyway. See www.pillreports.com for user reports.

Also to Gospeedgo: The dose quoted (120 milligrams) is based on approximately 2 milligrams of MDMA per kilogram of bodymass for a 60kg man. It's generally considered a 'full MDMA dose', however I believe that doses in the region 75 - 100 milligrams are considered 'good MDMA doses' when pills contain this much. The abbreviation 'ug' is often used in ASCII to represent micrograms (because the u looks similar to a greek 'mu'), and each microgram is one thousandth of a milligram. Generally only doses of LSD and synthetic opioids are measured at the microgram level. Everything else we dose takes thousands of micrograms to have an effect on a person, which is why milligrams are a more convenient unit. FYI: 120 mg MDMA = 120,000 ug MDMA.

No, because you don't use the whole pill. You only need to scrape a tiny bit off the pill in order to test it.

I'm confused about your question about 'newbie' pills: I mean it's not like you can go into a grocery store and pick your pill, you (generally) get what you're given - which is what's around at the time.

You can't "ask" for a weak pill, or a certain logo, dealers generally don't have a variety from which to choose from. You could, however, look up the pill that's been offered to you - or test it - or start a thread on it in here, then decide if it's right for you. But you don't 'ask' for a certain type. Unless I'm missing something.
 
hey mate i've recently just began taking xtc aswell my 1st time in october, reading ur reports yu have asked all the questions i did.
for my 1st time it was just me and another mate we just took a 1/4 at first we go into the club tried dancing nothing really happened went and took the next 1/4 on advice of a guy we meet in the club and after that we were sweet. so my advice is take 1/2 and the most important thing is 2 try and forget bout it just let it come on. takes away paranoia.

just read up on all the effects that mdma does and the other drugs that maybe in it and if yu can talk to some ppl who are experienced on the night, it helps. that is if ur going some1 where ppl have taken it i guess.

look in the end as soon as it kicked in both my mate and i went 'oh ok this is xtc' yu'll find out wat i mean its nothing of wat ur thinking i bet ya. and yu realise that all the paranoia yu had wasnt neccessary, dont feel embarassed or anything mate cos i was exactly the same and im sure every1 else was 2.

Hopefully within the next few weeks ill be able to explain in detail what happened, which should be good.

prodigy: I'd recomend tryin to find an experienced dropper for your first time. So if they say the pills are strong only have half. Heres a little story for your amusement...

For my first time (well id done abit of speed and had 1/2 a pills before), but this my my first time really rolling. I was at an outdoor event with a mate who was an experienced dropper. We had white or beige Zorros, supposed to be a strong pill at the time. My mate recomended that i drop in halves, but i thought what the heck its gonna be a big day =) so i dumped the whole pill. About 30mins or so later my friend was off his trolley, and i was straight as, id dropped after having quiet alot to eat for breaky, mate empty stomach. I didnt take this into consideration, anyhow the 1hr mark came and went and still nothing, so i asked my friend for another 1/2, which he initially refused, but after reassuring him i was straight, he let me have another half. anyhow within about 10mins of dropping the other half... BANG.. MDMA freight train hit me.. hehe.. what followed was an extremely instense peak for the next 3-4hrs or so.. it was extremely intense, but i loved every moment of it, cept for about a 15min period when the other half kicked in and it got abit too intense =P

so to learn something from my story make sure u wait atleast 90mins before redosing =) specially if uve eaten abit before hand =)
