Cultivating hemp...

It refers to growing cannabis that lacks or has extremely low levels of thc. Just like some growers select strains with high levels of thc one can do the opposite. Hemp is then used for fiber and a variety of other things.

Basically to grow weed without thc.
 
Cannabis Sativa has the longest and strongest fibers in nature. It makes better paper products, fuels, and plastic replacements than trees, corn, or any other easiliy cultivated plant. Henry Ford thought that by now our entire automotive industry would be manufactured and fueled on hemp. George Washington and Benjamin Franklin both grew hemp. Thomas Jefferson was arguably the first hemp activist, and encouraged tobacco farmers to switch to farming hemp. He also liked to write on his back portch while smoking cannabis and enjoying the view. Hemp is a profitable crop even if you don't harvest it because it puts nutrients back into the soil. Is the risk of people smoking cannabis really worth depriving our legitimate economy of what is already the largest cash crop in the United States? They know it. We know it. Why don't we have it?
 
what is it like 0.4% thc(?) & under male plants are classified hemp. USA's first projected super crop (crop to exceeded a billion $ in annual revenue) until it got stepped on by a few industrialists who got together & campaigned against it since it threatened to compete(More like obliterate) with their industries. A little while later the Marijuana Taxx stamp act of 1937. George Washington was a hemp farmer. Martha*being a good wife* had a big ol fresh bowl of greens waiting for our 1st pressy every morning. MMm Weedies, the breakfast of champions & forefathers.

all i can say about hemp is that i'd write on it, but i wouldnt wanna wear it or wipe my ass on it cuz that shit is coarse as a mufu :S

Properly processed hemp fiber is softer than cotton fiber. :)

Canvas used to be made from hemp because hemp softens, but doesn't weaken. In fact, the word "canvas" comes from "cannabis".
