I slept the entire Sunday – that party really ate through my energy reserves, and that’s why it was cool.
However, it was way too crowded. We arrived at 10 or so to avoid the line…well, the line was as long as it’s ever been. I had two newbies with me who decided to roll, so I didn’t want to have them stay in the line for the 4 hours. Had to do the unethical thing and tip security to take us in (so we were in at 10:05).
Someone mentioned the security being too relaxed. HAHAHA, security did not exist at all. How do I know? Because we all walked
straight through,
without stopping for anything or talking to anyone, and when I thought we finally gonna be searched – we were inside already. That’s right – we didn’t talk to a single person on our way in and didn’t pause (I don’t know if that was cause we tipped them, but I think that’s how it was for all pretty much). And that’s how I like it anyway, so fuck it. There’s really no way to search crowd this big and still have the performance the same day.
The crowd was not too PLURish, though the newbies with me found it pretty nice. I mainly spent time in Area 1 & 2. Nostrum, spacegirl, all were OK to dance too, but I'm not pretty selective.
I met
ScaryRaver and now know the origin on the nick, great mask man.

I’m sure I’ll see you at events and I’ll be in NH area during summer so it would be cool to talk.
Also during the first meet up I was introduced to
Speekah Phreekah. Teddy, I actually had a small gift for your b-day, but we were separated during the first meet up and I didn’t see you at the second.

Still very nice to meet you!
Of course, since we gave ride to
Adam HereNnow, I got to meet him. Very smart and cool guy, and I’ll see you at a few events in Philly and DC. We should try Motion during this summer, too.
At the second meet up I ran into
candygrl66 (Our very own DJ Sky, as I learned). No doubt I’ll see you at other events and hopefully somewhere where you’re spinning or promoting. Very nice girl – what a nice way to finish the party, though meet up place was not conducive to
meeting and we couldn’t really talk. I’ll email you later though.
^^This was during the second meet up and I was already in a pretty bad mood since I was looking for Adam so we can leave (my friends had enough), the door there was open and it was cold and,
most importantly, there was no way to talk as it was impossible to hear anything and it was too dark. There is really no point in trying to say anything in this kind of environment.
Now that we all know the Key area – meet up really should be either by the phone or by the game/arcade machines in Area 1. Music is still there, it’s easy to get to, BUT you can also talk and make plans and find out what people think of the music. My friends stood next to the arcade machine for an hour and talked about how this (rave/massive) compares to regular club, and how it’s so much better. (You know, rolling for the 1st time, hehe). Couch could be good for first meet up, when there are fewer people there, but these other areas are OK at anytime, really.
Sorry I didn’t meet up other BLers, but in such a crowd it is hard to see any stickers, or even what people are wearing. So there’ll be many future times. As far as Stamford crew, though, I’m chilling here now and gonna be here for a whole week until another event this coming weekend: either in NYC (paul van dyke) or in Philly (sasha+digweed). So let’s try to talk and maybe something’s going on – or we can simply get something to eat and listen to something.
Finally, since we drove to Key, we left the car in some place that was well lit – but it was tenants of the building parking only. So when we got back we had a
$50 parking ticket, but I guess that could be viewed like the cost of parking (and it beats $85 tickets they give you in Manhattan). We went back to our friend’s apartment in Manhattan and actually managed to get a nice meal and coffee – that’s what’s great about NYC, everything’s open and you can do whatever. The music was great and I can still hear it in my head and feel it in my feet (good thing I'm just sleeping/relaxing most of this week).
Alright, that’s it. Peace out!
