Could I expect to put on muscle mass on TRT without working out?

Hi,
I'm pretty discouraged right now.
Basically I have always been skinny/fat. In school I was the weakest kid in class.
I always felt like something is wrong with me.
Around age 20 when I first found out I have low T I thought this explains it all.
This is why I am so damn weak and dont have much more muscle mass than a woman.

I also was never able to put on muscle mass in the gym.

Anyway, the thing is I've been on T injections since October.
I get 250mg T enanthate every 3 weeks. As already discussed in another thread this is far from optimal but my endo is stubborn.
He doesn't do shorter intervals and also no HCG!
I could only go back on gels which also wasn't great, or go on Nebido.

What I know so far from lab tests is that 1 week after an injection my T level is slightly above the normal range.
2 weeks after the injection I was at 13nmol/l which is low normal. (my "natural" levels used to be between 8-12 nmol)
How low I am after 3 weeks before the next injection is something I don't know.

My question is, should I still put on muscle mass under this regimen? Since I lack muscle mass shouldn't my body start to gain at least a bit
when my T levels are raised?

Or would those constant fluctuations of my T levels (up and down) prevent me gaining muscle mass? For example when I'm 7 days in a high T range and then 7 days in a low normal
range and then 7 days in a low range, then would this basically mean that even if I should gain a bit during the high range time that I'd still lose it during the time when my T is low?

I feel like I haven't gained anything since October. My forearms are still as disgustingly skinny as always. Also my arms and shoulders look as thin as always.
I have gained weight but I think this is only fat cause I ate too much.

I'm concerned now far various reasons cause 1) I dont know if I should put on muscle mass on TRT cause if yes then what would this mean if I dont?
Would this mean that there is someting else wrong with me and that the low T is not the explanation for me being skinny and weak?

That's scary. I always thought that low T is the explanation but what if it's not? I wouldn't even know where to look then. Which doctor is supposed to help me with this?
They will just tell me I'm fine and make fun of me or think I'm crazy or watched too many Schwarzenegger movies. But I really do look abnormally skinny/fat. I really hate
looking this way. It's not normal at all. I really look like a woman without boobs. Everything is just skin and bones (and fat).
I can't even do 1 regular pushup! I never could.

How can this be normal?

I mean if TRT neither makes me feel better nor does it make me look a bit more normal but helping me put on muscle mass then what is this shit good for?
All I got so far is tiny balls.

Question is can you put on muscle by adding testosterone in hrt dose every three weeks without even training. If your levels are elevated from what they are (without hrt) for the most part, then answer is yes. You will simply have more muscle with higher testosterone levels. Study was done with 4 groups of people in relation to 500 mg test. Yes, the group that did not train but DID take gear, actually surpassed natty group that Did train but DID NOT take gear. What this means is it's not a finishing touch. And also, it's not just one part of the equation. It's the whole equation and the next equation. That said, your dose is RATHER MODEST, and fyi the group that trained and took gear surpassed all the other groups (including of course the group which neither trained nor received gear). In other words, training would enhance the effect, although it will have muscle building results on its very own.

you identify yourself with being skinny and weak, but somehow I doubt if you looked thick/strong, then problem would be solved. If that's the case just accept you are who you are. Cause trust me trying to be something perceived notion of what others think is good is problematic when they don't care about anyone but themselves at the end of the day, and you're left holding the bag on superficial reality.

So you think that I should be gaining muscle mass on this HRT regimen even when it's not optimal and my levels go up and down?
But how quickly should I notice anything? I really don't think I have gained anything. I still look as bad as always. Since I'm not lean seeing muscle gains is also much harder.

I just worry what if raising my T levels isn't the solution? What if for whatever reason my body still won't respond? What do I do then?
I know that working out would raise the chances or gaining muscle mass but I have too many aches and pains. Both my shoulder and my knee hurt very often. Already had a knee MRI.
Doctor found nothing and yet it hurts so much I cannot even squat or kneel down. :(

I already thought about things like receptors and stuff like that but I had a test done called CAG repeat polymorphism test. The result was normal. This supposedly means that I am not
insensitive towards testosterone.

But what's also strange is that I don't have a strong beard growth. I thought when I go on TRT and my T and DHT go up then I should notice a stronger beard growth and also get thicker hair but
nothing changed either!

This is so discouraging.
I always thought when I go on TRT then everything will be different. Many men report that everything changed and they felt better and yadda.
But for me nothing has changed. Damn.

I don't know all what's going on with your situation. Half the problem with attributing teenage adolescent problems to a long undiagnosed physical or mental illness is naturally you'll think when I have the cure for this problem it will solve everything. This is wishful thinking. I'm going to go out on a limb and say you can put on muscle using basic fundamentals such as resistance training, using more weight over time, and being consistent with it. It takes time and determination to see any results worth feeling proud of. Most people can gain at least 10 or 15 lbs of muscle within first 6-12 months training properly. Gotta work around injuries...

Also, in checking out other drugs forum I run across your thread about ritalin/amph and the heart. Ritalin will make it much harder to gain muscle. Probably can't even work out on high dose of it or risk aneurysm or something. Definitely have to prioritize.

Technically you are normal for 2 weeks out of 3, If training and diet are optimal, gains should be possible, but it takes time thats why most people get discouraged and give up...

I cannot really work out. I have too many aches and pains in my body. Hitting the gym would only make it worse.

I was just hoping that going on TRT would simply transform me into a normal male. I thought since I lack a lot of muscle mass my body would start putting on muscle mass
once I have higher T levels. Is this not so? Or are my T levels simply not high enough?

I mean why are there men who do not work out at all and still carry way more muscle mass than I could build even with working out!? This is so unfair.

Years ago when I was still doing better I worked out for over 1 year straight and still I couldn't even benchpress 60 kilos (bar included)!!
This is simply insane.
My whole shoulder/chest area is mostly skin and bones. I can count my ribs on the upper chest. There is virtually no muscle mass just like in women only that they have boobs. :(
And I'm not even lean. I have a lot of excessive bodyfat on the lower body.

I know what testosterone does in the body. I have read a book about andrology.
How does this relate to my issue?

I'm on TRT and notice no difference, neither muscle, libido, beard growth, body hair, wellbeing.
Only my balls have shrunk.

Hey, watch what you say, there are some huge women in my gym. Looking like they can crush a watermelon or your head with their legs.

But on a serious note, i just started my sixth week of my first test cycle and havent noticed much change in my libido, well being and all those psychological effects either. Why dont you try getting in the gym but lifting really light so it wont irritate your joints, something is better than nothing. Then you might see some muscle growth, but you also have to eat above your maintenance calories, so you can actually gain weight. Maybe the issue is with you diet, can you elaborate on it?

Then you have not read enough.
Quoting from the article I linked.
"Testosterone is one of many factors involved in the development of muscle bulk and strength. Testosterone increases neurotransmitters, which encourage tissue growth. It also interacts with nuclear receptors in DNA, which causes protein synthesis. Testosterone increases levels of growth hormone. That makes exercise more likely to build muscle. Testosterone increases bone density and tells the bone marrow to manufacture red blood cells. Men with very low levels of testosterone are more likely to suffer from bone fractures and breaks.
Testosterone also plays a role in fat metabolism, helping men to burn fat more efficiently. Dropping levels of testosterone can cause an increase in body fat.."

Only a blood test will determine the level you require, and your individual physiology will determine the results. Read more on the topic, and find the facts you need to make an informed decision.
If you like I can help you find more pertinent information. No offense meant to anyone here (myself included) WE may not have the training or background to properly answer your question.

Personal experience with HGT's is exactly that, Personal. Like I said... willing to help find the info you need.

You are only on a normal/low-normal dose of testosterone, you should only feel normal, you are not on supraphysiological amounts...

Hormones take time to effect skeletal muscle hypertrophy, along with many other factors.. Unless diet and training are optimal, you are unlikely to notice much as far as growth..

If you want supraphysiological effects you will need supraphysiological amounts...

If I remember correctly your endo has you on a rather low dose, injecting every 3 weeks, which isn't the best protocol for your needs...

Maybe try and supplement extra testosterone if you can get hold of it...

If I could for example get 250mg Enanthate (contains 180mg pure testo) every 2 weeks then would this be enough to gain muscle mass without working out?
Or would I need much more than that?
What I could do would be add T gel. Then my T levels would definitely be higher but I don't know how risky that would be. I mean if I walk around with T levels
which are, let's say at 160% then how unhealthy would that be?
My endo told me that when you're on TRT the blood could get thicker.
My DHT levels would also be way above the normal range if I used additional gel. I dont know if this would be a risk for the prostate.

You don't gain muscle without exercise..

Yes you could add T-Gel low dose mid morning..

Your endo is a retard...

DHT shouldn't be an issue if you are sensible with your dose..

I dont gain muscle at all!?
But then where do all other men who do not workout and still have more muscle mass than me get their muscle mass?
My brother doesn't work out at all and still he has more muscles than me.

When I was on testogel and using 5 grams which is half the max allowed dosage my DHT was already at the upper limit around 1000.
The injection seems to raise DHT not quite as high. There I had a level of 800 after 1 week when my serum T was highest.
But if I added let's say 2,5 grams gel and took it daily on top of the injections then my DHT would definitely be above the normal range.
I already have some issues with hair loss. I'm scared that raising my DHT too high would make this even worse. :/
