Have not been able to find any solid information on this subject. Do we know if there is any direct correlation between moderate stimulant use (Not binging/addiction) and long term dopamine and serotonin levels?

Essentially can you actually deprive yourself of the ability to enjoy life to the same extent due to weekend stimulant use? I understand there is no definitive answer here but some light shed and insight would be fantastic.

Thanks

This is something I'm interested in too, and one of the reasons I've always shied away from strong stims despite my concentration problems.

To be quite honest, I take 40mg adderall ir every single day as my doctor recommends. I only take about 2-3 days off every month. And when I choose to take a small break, I always go back to my normal self. Meaning, I show no signs of depression and I am able to enjoy life in general just as much as anybody. Only thing is I get very sleepy during the day so I try to take small 1hr naps when I can. But I truly feel like myself when I'm alone/around others when I'm not medicated. Also I think it's crucial to add that I've been prescribed adderall since 2012. Adding to the subject, I find myself more concerned about the long term physiological effects rather than neuro.

That's the other major problem for me. I just didn't feel like myself when I was on Ritalin. :(

Useful info, although prescribed doses are for medicating, recreational doses tend to be considerably higher (Although in isolated sessions) so potentially carry a higher risk.

Of course it being so new I doubt anyone could add any speculation about mephedrone specifically? All issues/relevant side effects reported on various forums have involved days and days of binging, moronic doses or full blown addiction, but occurring at a much higher rate than standard uppers (Amphetamines).

I was on stimulants for about 7 years, all prescribed at about 60 mg of adderall/day. I have definitely recovered from stimulants at this point. I actually concentrate better now without them. After so many years, they kind of stopped working and were counter-productive. When I stopped, I had about two weeks of fog and grogginess but nothing too bad. The other pysch meds...still working on that, it's a much longer process.

Don't worry yourself about anhedonia. That is usually from long-term, heavy street meth use. If you are concerned, maybe you should quit. You will get better, although it can take some time.

there's definitely a correlation there.
dunno if this a good or a bad thing but there's definitely something.
just sayin'
