Considering Weed for the First Time

on your first time you probably wont notice the high (depending on the quality of the gear ) if your too anxious or too expectant once youve got over the smoking part which sucks if it's your first time you just have to relax think about somthing else watch a movie go for a walk or somthing then you'l gradualy notice what the highs like which can be very subtle if your expecting to be blown away have fun and report back

Well a few days ago I did it. The first few times I didn't get much smoke so didn't cough and was wondering if it really was this easy...then I inhaled a bit too much and it stayed in my throat and bleeehhh (wasn't sick though, just a lot of coughing). After this I didn't want to try it again...but a few hours later I did, to the same effect, managed a few small ones and then took on too much and was coughing again. My boyfriend said there could be no possible effect on me since I had so little, but I'm going to try again once my finals are over.

We did, however, watch this youtube video and found it VERY funny.

I'm less scared of the whole 'smoking' aspect now I've done it a little, so hopefully next time it will happen for me!

One piece of advice is to take it slow, sometimes it can take a few minutes to feel it when you are new. The first few times I tried it, I would not feel it until about 10 minutes after a 5-8 minute session. If you just keep toking until you feel it, then it is going to be a very overwhelming experience that will either be the greatest experience ever, or the opposite and it could turn you off from cannabis.

Your BF might want you to smoke through your tolerance, but I tried that and got a debilitating high, I had fun but some get turned away when this happens.

You need to chill out darling and just toke it.

It makes me laugh when you get people planning everything and getting all psyched up before trying weed haha :D Reminds me of the first time I had GBL and Mephedrone.

hey Owly!

first off, let me say this: your attitude towards pot, being a never-smoker especially, is very refreshing! many people who have never baked before are very anti-baking (baking = getting stoned). I am not going to say I'm glad that you STARTED smoking, but I am glad you TRIED smoking pot. I used to be a huge pothead (as well as having my fingers in many many other substances), and thought it was the best thing since sliced bread. I smoked nonstop all day every day. then I realized, whooaaaa this feels a LOT nicer in moderation.

truly, Owly, moderation is key. remember that, and you don't need to remember anything else.

nowadays, I'm taking it easy, smoking once or twice a week (on my weekend). I smoke a bowl or so, get high, but not BLAZED, and enjoy myself. getting too high is fun, but makes you feel like crap afterwards. by "feel like crap", I mean being like all-I-wanna-do-is-sit-around-and-eat-and-play-video-games, also the-sun-hurts-my-eyes-yar! getting too high makes you lazy.

if you wanna experiment with the good herb, I'd suggest smoking no more than twice a week, optimally once a week. make sure you have nothing to do for the next 4 hours (only will be high for 2 to 3, but you will probably need some time afterwards to get back to stage-ready).

take two hits, hold each in for 7 to 10 seconds. wait 10 minutes. if you don't feel it, take another two hits. wait 10 minutes, repeat, you get the idea.

as you gradually increase your dosage, you will have time to get comfy where you are. remember Owly, it is ALL about having FUN and ENJOYING yourself, getting to KNOW yourself. if you ever feel uncomfortable with the sensation of smoking out, stop smoking, put on a video or video game or pull out a guitar or whatever you do to relax. let the high settle on top of your own consciousness, let it be the icing on yr brain, let it enhance your perspective, let it tear down your mental barriers, let it grease your mind-cogs, let it wash you with euphoria, joy, oneness, let it help you to get closer to your boyfriend, whatever you do, enjoy it!

life isn't about getting high - getting high is about life. I smoke pot because
a) it feels good
b) it makes me feel like a kid when the world is completely new and ever so compelling and full of PURPOSE
c) it breaks a lot of mental ice in my head - releases loads of inner tension - melts my egoic thoughts away
d) helps me to have an appettite
e) helps me sleep
f) when I smoke it with friends and loved ones, I feel sooooo much closer to them, more in tune with them. specifically with the gf, smoking out is like the best bonding evar
g) completely frees my creative mind, aids my artworking
h) is one of the best allies I have in terms of spiritual exploration and investigation
i) helps me to love the world and love myself and just love things in general, to be more caring and compassionate, to be humble and sincere, to not lie to myself and others, to just be as good, respectful, and considerate a person as I can be

there are many more reasons, as well.

Owly, if you ever find yourself smoking pot instead of doing something you used to love, that means you probably should slow down. this does not apply only to pot; in fact, it applies more to other drugs. pretty much applies more to ANY other drug than it does to pot, but it still def applies to pot.

I've been addicted to some nasty things for a few years in the past, and realized that all that could have been avoided if I'd stopped the moment I replaced my time with a person, a hobby, a course in school, an instrument, etc with a drug. in other words, life isn't about getting high. there are not many things/times in your life that would be better spent intoxicated. I know this, not knowing anything about your life.

now that that caution is out of the way, I really do hope you have a great time getting stoned. it is a great experience. a great way connect with yourself, your loved ones, and the world in general. have fun Owly, let us know how it goes!

^^ Beautifully said. The only thing that i may add is that weed is the best antidepressant available today and should be prescribed before SSRI's if it was legal.

The first time i used a gravity bong i threw up. :P

The most important things are...

1) Be in a safe nice place where you don't have a thing to do for at least 4 hours.
2) Alcohol + weed = good, but not on your first time. People react differently to things
3) Relax and have fun :) Don't expect something insane, just some chill out fun.

The first time i tried weed, i got the most high ive ever been. I stared at my hand for over 20 mins before chilling out and watching tv. It was some swag too lol
