Stimulants Concerta - trying not to lose weight

I'm taking Concerta XL (36mg) for ADHD.

Initially the weight loss was fine, it helped me shed the mirtazapine weight I gained.

But now I'm trying to stay around 70kgs ( I'm 178cms), and its proving difficult.
I go to the gym 3/4 times a week, to try and keep my heart healthy. But it's difficult to eat enough, can anyone recommend anything?

I'm reluctant to change dose/medication, as I've finally got something that works.

Ae protein shakes any good, maybe if I have one of these with lunch or dinner?

Cannabis. Force yourself to choke *something* down. Snack during the day or something.

There is no real good way to counteract the appetite suppression of monoaminergics; that is just how the human body works.

Isn't working out bad for you on stimulants due to it overworking your heart?

Anyway, I think eventually you'll gain a tolerance to the anorexic effects. That's why sometimes on the side effects it says "temporary weight loss" because you'll eventually gain it back.

For now though, yea weed would be a very good thing to help you eat. Just smoke some weed and eat and bunch of junk food lol. Weight is a lot easier to put on than take off as I've learned :\

I didn't know I wasn't supposed to be exercising, I figuring that doing some exercise would be better than doing no exercise?

Nothing works except to drink liquid meals. Even if its meat, just add olive oil and high speed blend them into some pulp that you can drink instead of chew.

Exactly this. I take vyvanse daily (prescribed), and I literally force feed full size meals down every 2-3 hours. Supplements are o.k. but only two to three of your five total meals should be supplements, you can't just take them all day instead of food.

Eat a big breakfast in the morning BEFORE dosing. Snack lightly throughout the day to keep your blood sugar stable. Even when my appetite is dead, I can stomach a handful of almonds or another high-fat snack. Whatever you eat, wash it down with a big gulp of water to combat dry mouth. Chewing is no fun when your mouth is a desert :)

Try to sneak in calorie dense foods. Meats are actually a lot less calories than people think. High carb foods & high fat foods. Milkshakes help too. Main thing is to have a balance in what you're eating.

Yeah I have to eat when the stimulant is wearing off, otherwise I just can't manage to consume anything but liquids. The good thing I have found though is that when you eat as the stimulant drug begins to wear off, it actually helps smooth out the comedown which can be pretty harsh, especially with methylphenidate.

Comedown? This doesn't, and has never given me a comedown...? Sometimes at the weekend I might miss a Saturday or a Sunday dose, if I'm not doing anything, or if I want to feel a bit more....or less...altered? Difficult to explain.

Thanks for the tips guys, I've started eating a good breakfast every day - cereal, poached egg on toast, protein shake, fruit and tea.
I've stabilised around 67-70kgs, and am sticking to things which don't increase the heart rate so much, like swimming.
