No not yet, it's been 5 months since last injection.Did you eventually recover your strength levels?

Hey so why did you get put on invega sustena? No not yet, it's been 5 months since last injection.
The loss of strength is because there’s a good chance you have lost muscle and gained weight after invega. The shot depletes muscle and alters hormones in the body, which explains the weight gain.Did anyone lose their strength where they couldn’t do activities the same as before. I can’t lift weights more than about 25 lbs ten times before the weak feeling is really noticeable. Also same on the rowing machine, it’s a challenge just to pull the cable towards me. Also sometimes even my breathing muscles feel weak and it feels challenging to take a full breath. I’m just at 11 months off the shot. Will this loss of strength be forever? Everything I do is affected.
A drug-induced myopathy is defined as the subacute, and rarely acute, manifestation of myopathic symptoms, such as muscle weakness, fatigue, myalgia, creatine kinase (CK) elevation or myoglobinuria, that occur in patients without muscle disease when exposed to therapeutic doses of certain drugs. The loss of strength is because there’s a good chance you have lost muscle and gained weight after invega. Your pre-invega strength won’t come back naturally, you’ll have to keeping working out to rebuild your strength. The same with weight loss. You will have to be on a calorie deficit to lose it.
This is a horrible drug which seriously messes up the body systems but thankfully it’s not permanent and takes a lot of work to go back to your normal self.
Good luck!
Lol im on that list. Ive recovered a total of 3 times from antipsychotics but now im on a CTO so idk if ill ha e fortune of recovering again. Im thinking of tell my psychiatrist that i want to get switched to pills then she will say no. Yeah it's pretty well known that the 'negative' symptoms of schizophrenia are more related to the side effects of the med than that it's related to the disease itselfBeen on Invega Sustenna/Paliperidone for 2 months now and I already feel so much better. My psychiatrist was trying to convince me that the misery I was feeling was from the negative symptoms of schizophrenia but after stopping the meds and feeling so much better I know for sure now that its the meds that is the cause of my misery.
Taking meds is like trying to fix one thing (schizophrenia/psychosis) and adding 10 more problems (medication side effects) to your life... well at least that was the experience for me.
My symptoms did improve after 3 months. Well pretty much said, I already felt improvements after directly stopping it. Tbf once you start to improve, you'll be more positive and at the end not even think about the drug anymore. No not yet, it's been 5 months since last injection.

I second the experience of being able to "feel" the gym again around 12/13 months. I think you will find the alleviation of a lot of your current struggles around 14 months.Did anyone lose their strength where they couldn’t do activities the same as before. I can’t lift weights more than about 25 lbs ten times before the weak feeling is really noticeable. Also same on the rowing machine, it’s a challenge just to pull the cable towards me. Hope so.My symptoms did improve after 3 months. Well pretty much said, I already felt improvements after directly stopping it. Tbf once you start to improve, you'll be more positive and at the end not even think about the drug anymore.
Im with you that the negative symptoms are caused by the drugs as opposed to schizophrenia. Im diagnosed with schizophrenia but i only feel like shit when im on the medication whenever i get off it and recover i dont feel like shit anymore. Hopefully in the future they have drugs that dont cause all these nasty side effects. Right now there making a drug called ulotaront which dosnt antagonize dopamine and serotonin receptors. If this drug gets approved it could be a new age of antipsychotic drugs that dont cause sode effects. Then no one will have to be placed on invega sustenna again. Lets hope for the best.Yeah it's pretty well known that the 'negative' symptoms of schizophrenia are more related to the side effects of the med than that it's related to the disease itself
Well I saw a documentary on schizophrenia way before I sent myself to the hospital (one of the biggest mistake of my life though) and knew all about it.
To add: it's possible that schizophrenia also causes 'negative' symptoms without adding the medicines side effect.
How long were you good before you relapsed the first time? And the second and third? Were you smoking weed?Lol im on that list. Ive recovered a total of 3 times from antipsychotics but now im on a CTO so idk if ill ha e fortune of recovering again. Im thinking of tell my psychiatrist that i want to get switched to pills then she will say no. So then during tribunal hearing ill tell them i want to be on pills instead of injection to get off the community treatment order. Hope ot works lol
Sounds like an ultimatum. I hope you have a good lawyer to back up that threat.Lol im on that list. no i was not smoking weed first time i recovered i think shortly after recovering i was hearing voices but i was just living with it. 2nd time it took 2 years after getting off abilify that i started hearing voices again, when i heard voices it came back real hard and then i got sent to a mental hospital. 3rd time it was like 6 months after i got off the shot, i recovered from the injection and went back to hearing voices hard. if it were up to me i would have just lived with the voices and not go on meds but my parents called the cops on me and sent me to a mental hospital, and thats when they put me on the community treatment order. right now im waiting for ulotaront to come out, its an antipsychotic that dosnt antagonize dopamine and serotonin receptors so im hoping i dont feel like shit on it.How long were you good before you relapsed the first time? Your lucky. So you just had 1 episode of psychosis? I wish for me it was a 1 time thing but i guess i got this for lifeIt is a really good idea to get an advance directive made with your psych or therapist while you are recovering. This can instruct any doctor that may end up treating you to NOT inject you if you end up relapsing. It is much easier & faster to recover from pills. I recovered from pills after one relapse & haven't relapsed since March 2020.
I had two. The first one was worse than the second but went on for longer. They told me I had it for life at first, it felt like a death sentence. I hope that holistic alternatives or other options are found for schizophrenia & recurring psychosis, because to me the anhedonia & loss of all enjoyment the meds bring is worse than death. My family wouldn't listen for a while when I was on Invega, but after a few months they knew it wasn't working for me (I went to the ER for not being able to sit down or sleep, very bad akathasia and insomnia. Had to take benzos to be able to be still for long periods). I finally convinced my psych to put me on Invega pills instead of the injection, & then I stopped taking my pills. My mom noticed that I was not taking them, and decided to watch my behavior instead of saying anything. She saw major behavior improvement - prior to that she believed my flatness & dullness & change of character was due to schizophrenia (it's what the psych said) - she decided to let me continue not taking them. I kept improving & was able to move back out about nine months later (could still barely cook, but could at least function at that point). I'm thankful that she had an open mindabout me getting off meds, even though she is the one who initially told the psych at the ward to put me on injections because I couldn't be trusted to take pills.Your lucky. So you just had 1 episode of psychosis? I wish for me it was a 1 time thing but i guess i got this for life![]()
. Hear8ng voices isnt as bas as ppl think. I justnwish my family would.let me.live.woth hearing coices as opposed to putting me on meds that make me feel like shit.
