Yes, you read that right, two weekends!

We're excited to announce Coachella 2012 will be held over TWO WEEKENDS.

In an effort to try and accommodate everyone who wants to experience the festival, COACHELLA 2012 will be two separate events, held over two consecutive weekends. We will attempt to produce two identical festival weekends. That means same lineup, same art, same place, different people.

We know many of you were unable to attend this year's festival because passes sold out much sooner than anticipated. We were truly surprised by the overwhelming response and remain honored by your passion and enthusiasm. We also know some of you purchased through non legitimate sources and were inconvenienced, gouged or totally scammed. We hope that these changes will give everyone the opportunity to purchase directly from Coachella.com.

Passes go on sale beginning this Friday, June 3rd, 2011, at 10am PST until the following Friday June 10th, 2011, at 10pm PST. This advance sale will be the only opportunity to take advantage of the Coachella Payment Plan. Passes will be available through a payment plan of 10% down and 8 equal monthly payments OR by payment in full. The price of three-day passes remains at $269 plus fees for the sixth consecutive year.

IMO this complicates things, as now people will have tons of missed connections due to people not knowing who's going when. It also takes away a bit of that "magical one weekend out of the year" feel, at least IMO.

I'll probably end up going weekend one, at least then it'll be fresh.

Im just gunna camp this year, dealing with the hotel/parking was actually way worse than having to be dirty and a bit sleep deprived each night.

For those going next year, we should try to organize a BL camp or something?

Yeah camping is def the way to go for that.. Driving to a fest everyday, all **insert drug**'d out is no bueno
 
Ha, word, though it was the traffic that really bugged me. In a group of about 5 people, there was always one sober person to drive, but sitting in that traffic daily just to park was godawful.

Camping it is!

SOH - Ya, thats another worry of mine. How will they be able to get *identical* acts? Especially the rare ones! I'll definitely be getting a ticket, but when the line up comes out if its not as good as it usually is I might end up selling it and having the funds go towards LIB and Burning Man.

We shall see. Im a bit concerned about how next year's festival will go...

tomorrow Langerado's lineup is being announced.. I cant wait.. I can literally walk to the festival from my house
 
I doubt they'd allow that, no.
If you get a hotel or camp out in Joshua tree or something like that, ya definitely, but I dout they'd let you stay on the grounds that week.

Looks like me and my group of 4-5 people as well as Keaton +? and hopefully Amanda + ? will be going the second weekend. Hope to see Swerlz there as well, along with StarOceanHouse and Bill! You guys better make it out this year!

I know that my group as well as Keaton's group will be camping.
 
Maybe we can get Scuba to go next year.
I know I mentioned to Matt58 that I'd give him a ride if he throws for gas.

This, granted I'm still new to this but last year seemed huge and the fact that there's a second weekend gives me just a little bit of a bad feeling about it. We'll see. I'll keep my fingers crossed.
 
Have we decided which one to purchase??

Weekend two and if that means you're going I'm going to be extremely excited.

And yeah, this waiting room thing is hardcore annoying.
