i currently take 4.5 mg's a day of clonazepam and 6mg of lorazepam. my problem is the colazepam makes me depressed as shit compared to the lorazepam. Should i even attempt to ask my doctor to switch me to just lorazepam like every 4 hours? i know it sounds like a bad idea but i dont get much euphoria from it with my tolerance and dont abuse it. anyway, he kinda lets me do what i want with my meds as it is. but do i even have a chance at getting just lorzepam?
thanks.

This isn't what you are going to want to hear, but if your doctor really doesn't care and gives you what you want, then you should find a different doctor. Four and a half mg's of Clonazepam plus six mg's of Lorazepam every day is way too much, and you are asking for problems in the future by taking these kinds of doses. And increasing your dose will only increase the misery, I promise you.

Honestly, yeah, I would get off the Klonopin if it's not working well for you; you probably don't need both anyways. Then, once you are stabilized on whatever daily dose of Lorazepam, probably like 8-10mgs or so daily, you should start to think about tapering down.

Many if not most doctors don't like prescribing Benzos to begin with, much less two concommitantly. I can't imagine your doctor having a problem with taking one of the two Benzos off the regimen.

Being dependent on a high dose of benzos is why you feel depressed.

Clonazepam may be causing a paradoxical reaction (like it does for me) but there's no way of really telling definitively at this point.

You need to slowly taper off of both benzos, preferably going off one before the other.

You also need to ask your doctor about this - we have no way of knowing what he will/won't do for you. It sounds like you already know the answer anyways, so I'm going to close this.
