Benzos Clonazepam

Yeah but through the same logic, alprazolam acts more strongly on the alpha 2 subunit, and I don't think that alprazolam is less addictive than temazepam, but this is just my experience.

Speaking solely based on a chemical basis, temazepam modulates a receptor that is responsible for physical dependence, tolerance and reinforcing behavior much more actively than alprazolam does. So technically speaking, temazepam causes stronger physical dependence and is more reinforcing than alprazolam (based on the receptors that they work at). Alprazolam is a better modulator of the alpha 2 subunit, but that receptor has nothing to do with physical dependence or reinforcing behavior. Alpha 2 subunit is strictly anxiolysis and disinhibition. So alprazolam is a better anxiolytic, but temazepam is a stronger sedative and is more physically addictive.
