Hi everyone I’m a chronic pain patient of 12 years. With 2 back surgeries. The last with complications from doctor area that left me with partial paralysis of my left quad. And CRPS. Last year my doctor started weaning down my pain medications that I was stable on. This caused me so much stress that I became physically ill. During that time I came down with Lupus, Fibro and psoriatic arthritis. I am now being weaned down by my doctor again due to the pressure put on him by the DEA based on the CDC recommendations to the level of 90 mg morphine equivalent. This is the same as torture. The government is basically telling me that my life is not worth anything. I am being made to live in horrible pain the rest of my life. Or just end it. This is the a mass genocide of the disabled.

Very unfortunate turn of events. As a long-time user of opioids to treat chronic pain, seems I have gotten ahead of the curve on this one.
Two years ago (thereabouts) my meds were causing issues (financially, [no insurance], psychologically and physically) and I found options to the pill-mill.
Took some digging but came up with a few valid alternatives that worked for me. YMMV.
Sorry to read about the injustice brought on by corruption but this is just the beginning, I would imagine.
Any chance one can change doctor(s) and/or health-care?
And welcome to BL: Surely there is help for the weary here.
Hoping the best.
Peace

Thank you for your supportive words. At this point I just feel lucky my PM doctor hasn’t abandoned me.
Like so many other chronic pain patients I have read about. I have tried everything from epidurals, trigger shots, PT, acupuncture, antidepressant, anti seizure meds, CBD and THC. My life now is in total shambles. I live in fear every month that they won’t fill my script or it will be delayed. Or my doctor will decide to leave the practice or drop me. I’m bed bound a lot of the time and have become a burden on the people who care about me. I hate being tied to my medication and my doctor.

Would like some suggestions on what is the best way to taper off of I’m tapering down on my oxy from 90 to 60 and I’m down to the 12mcq patch of Fentanyl. Any suggestions on which it’s better to taper of next. I have to get down to the equivalent of 100 of morphine.

Hi Val21 - Welcome to Bluelight.

I think your tapering question would be best addressed in Basic Drug Discussion.

Your case is an unfortunate one, but there is always a path leading to a better way of living. It can get worse.. it can also get better, and here at Bluelight we are here to support you through the process.

Be well,
