I've recently revisited this classic and found it tight from start to finish. A very clever and somewhat disturbing story produced with style and pace which only contribute to a wonderful period tone.
originally meant as a trilogy, this makes me want to see the sequel only, "the two jakes".

Alluded to but never confirmed is what the Noah Cross wanted with his grand daughter/daughter so much. A theory i've heard is that he's trying to create a clone of himself, by having a child with the child he conceived with his daughter. Disturbing shit!
