Hey guys im not chemist, so need help from smart guys... Cold anyone tell me what name is this chemical maybe cas ?? tried to search by structure cannot find anything..

I'm sending this over to ADD.

Close if you deem this a substance ID... I wasn't sure as he's got the chemical structure...

It's closely related to 4-FA from what I see. Shouldn't be too far from that.

4-fluoro(pesudo)ephedrine.

Less fun than you'd expect, better as a decongestant, 1' metabolite of 4-fluoro-ephedrone.

I drew it in Chemsketch and it's telling me this is 4-FMC
It's not. 4-FMC has a ketone group, not an alcohol- the oxygen should have a double bond to the carbon. I have to ask- are you saying that you generated a name from the structure using software and it threw up "4-fluoromethcathinone"? Because that seem unlikely.

It actually gave "1-(4-fluorophenyl)-2-(methylamino)propan-1-ol" which I then googled- lots of the results there told me it was 4-FMC.

Don't hate the player, hate the freeware.

It's not the freeware, that's the right name, but it's 4-fluoroephedrine, not 4-FMC. The latter would be "1-(4-fluorophenyl)-2-(methylamino)propan-1-one". Workmen and their tools, eh?

In my defense, it should be noted that I am completely functionally retarded. Although who knew google would lie?!

Although everyone's google results are different (personalized), searching with quotation marks doesn't yield any results whatsoever for me. Look more closely, because google accepts diffentiation in the search query, especially if score symbols and things like that are used within the term.

Every other result has slight differences in the chemical formula and structure like a missing N-methyl or indeed the beta-ketone which is 4-FMC.
The compound in the OP is probably also one of the (minor?) metabolites of 4-FMC itself causing more cardiac issues like beta-hydroxy's like ephedrine do. This is also what was reported to be the trouble associated with 4-MMC (mephedrone) metabolism and side-effects. The N-demethylated analogue is a similar contestant.

IMO no defense is needed, the devil is in the details...
Can we assume you drew this yourself from imagination? Hopefully this is not offered anywhere?
Still better than any bromo derivative though I guess.
