Charlottesville, Virginia

yeah, sorry - i meant to say "for the last 15 years".

but fwiw i would be surprised if the history of american white supremacist violence had killed less than 2000 people, frankly
If you're looking at it historically then you're absolutely right, white supremacists probably killed in the hundreds of thousands.

But the other part of the equation is that radical muslims didnt really exist in America and Europe before 1990's and 2001, so the neo-nazi's had a headstart

And let's not forget all the other victims. All the tragic police stops and disappearances. Whole neighborhoods burned to the ground.

I think alt-right Trump effects are apparent. To make people forget exactly what it is we're talking about when we talk about white nationalism.

It has as its foundation the enslavement and or extermination of whole classes of human beings. That's not overstating anything.

Dude, so what? What is your point? Radical muslims are a different flavor of fascist, and aren't part of this equation or any math or anything to do with this.

The collective earth knows about 9/11 and believes Muslims want to kill them.

And even if readers here didn't know that, they don't need to, to understand the issues here.

No one involved in this cares about any of that.

What do you think about the white nationalists in the trump administration? What do you think about the top prosecutor in the country, Jeff Beauregard Sessions? Even Republicans didn't think he should be a judge.

I don't think he's Muslim, but he is something else.

Jeff Beauregard Sessions is the guy who wants to up the War on Drugs, longer sentences for drug offenders, the usual smorgasbord.
Who is investigating leakers to suck up to Trump.
The guy who introduced his buddy Steve Bannon to Trump.

I think that's quite enough for his crimes.

this is pretty illuminating:

alasdair

lays to rest the theory that these creeps aren't out to kill people.
it's really disturbing to see that bonehead guy speak so nonchalantly about murder, and say it was justified.

sadly i suspect these neo-nazis will continue to bash and murder innocent americans who campaign again them - the way they mention the tactics of greek fascists golden dawn (amongst a lot of other murderous rhetoric) makes little secret of this.

it's great to see so many wonderful brave people standing up to these hateful, whining sick fucks.
i'd be surprised if what happened last weekend doesn't increase the resistance to these nazi types. it's bloody ugly, and this last "rally" got a lot of exposure globally.

the comments from that bonehead at the end just go to show what these peoples' agenda is; murder, genocide and oppression of anyone who disgrees with them.
this isn't about discussing politics, or even play-acting or cosplay. they're terrorists, and communities are bravely resisting them.

major props in particular to the street medics who look after activists that got injured (and killed).
risking your own physical safety to look out for people who are defending their communities from these nasty low-lives takes a great deal of dedication and bravery.
it's easy to see this shit and just be horrified at how ugly and stupid humans can be, but on the other hand, i'm inspired to see such a bold and courageous community response to this orgy of racist violence.

hopefully it will be increasingly difficult for these people to obtain permission to demonstrate in this manner - i doubt many towns will wish to have terrorist militias roaming around their streets wielding weapons and chanting their nazi bullshit slogans.
the more exposure their toxic ideologies get, the more opposition they'll get.

the nazi association with trump is not doing him any favours either, except to his unwaveringly loyal support base, who seem to be prepared to support him no matter how low he stoops (or maybe they support him because of his racist credentials?)

all in all, it's a circus of really ugly, stupid bullshit.

trump is fucking scumbag, and he needs to be held responsible for enabling these nazi turds.

Rumor is that Chief of Staff Kelly wants to get rid of Steve Bannon, major white nationalist. He is Trump's link to the whole white power movement. He also has some very rich and powerful supporters. He could make a lot of noise if fired. I don't see him going quietly.

I'm not surprised that certain members are trying to make excuses for nazis and white supremacists. It is par for the course.

LiqMeth you are a disgrace to decent people everywhere. You are a nazi apologist, but that isn't the worst of your actions in this thread. Your worst, most deceitful action is to conflate locals protesting the invasion of their town by nazis with antifa. You love to trumpet how you are for transparency and truth, but you are opaque and intellectually dishonest.

Let us set your pigeonholing straight. The vast majority of people in the USA, and in the West, oppose fascism. They are anti-fascists. Someone who is anti-fascist or opposing fascism is not automatically a member of antifa.

Your conflation of anti-fascists and antifa members is blatant and intentional. You are trying to make peaceful protesters into violent thugs who deserve what they get. This is a technique utilized by fascists since before fascism was technically an ideology.

You are willing to sit at a table with nazis and white supremacists to hear what they have to say.

You are complicit with nazi ideology and white supremacy. Nazis and white supremacists have nothing to say that hasn't been said. They publicly state their positions in a painfully clear way.

No, I don't have to sit and listen to them spout their bullshit, and neither does anyone else. Getting a permit to protest has no bearing on others' ability to protest what they see as nightmarish indecency. Good people drown out this hate by being louder and larger in number. I know you aren't really an American, so I can't expect you to understand what liberty and justice entail in the USA. These nazis and will reap what they sow.

I'm not sure what amuses me more about your post - the fact that you think I'm conflating antifa with anti-fascists, or that you assume that I am pro-fascism. I am obviously an anti-fascist lol I can hold that position while still viewing Antifa as basically a bunch of spoiled kids that are butthurt about the election results. Unfortunately the police (and politicians) are using them as pawns in their agenda to silence any opinions that may be conservative or even slightly pro-Trump (which is how these people define "fascism"). You, a German of all people, should really be making sure that people understand the true meaning of fascism. Antifa were screaming "Nazi" when they ran riot in Berkeley to shut down Ann Coulter....... she's a fascist Nazi? Seriously? The alt-Left have cried Nazi one too many times, and now we have actual fucking Nazis.... nice work.

Alt-Left: paper-thin communists and people wearing racism-tinted glasses who have found an excuse to be violent towards whatever they don't like, justified by yelling Nazi.

Also I am not saying that you have to listen to them. But do we all want to improve the situation or make it worse?
I was referring to the Alt-Right with my previous posts and not the Nazis/white supremacists. Yes the lines are blurred between them but that happened over time.
This is an important definition for everyone here to keep in mind:

There are two 'Alt-Rights'.
One is more accurately described as the New Right. These people like to wear MAGA hats, create memes and have fun.
They include whites, blacks, Asians, latinos, gays and everyone else. These are the people that helped Trump win the election.
The other faction likes to fester in dark corners of sub-reddits and obsess about Jews, racial superiority and Adolf Hitler.
This is a tiny fringe minority. They had no impact on the election.
Guess which faction the media is giving all attention to?

Organized protests, marches or rallies almost always need permits so that the police, EMT's and even firefighters can get get ready in case of an emergency.

If everyone just started protesting everything they wanted you'd have bloodbaths breaking out everywhere

So why weren't the police ready for a nazi hate rally intended to create violence?

Can you imagine the response if hundreds of armed Muslims marched through the streets chanting "kill the infidels"? Do you think anyone who is not white would be able to talk to vice news about ethnically cleansing America and not receive a very swift visit from homeland security? Would you support the same freedom of speech in these situations that you feel the nazis deserve?

So Poland is a country that is probably the most sane right now, politically.
You guys should protest fascism like they do:

Hey would ya look at that, no violence.

Also a few things worth noting:

The KKK was founded by Democrats
Hillary's mentor Senator Robert Byrd was a Grand Dragon in the Klan.
The 13th, 14th and 15th Amendments, along with the Civil Rights Act, were all voted against by Democrats. Happened in the 60s.
Jim Crow laws were implemented by Democrats.
Republicans have never supported White Supremacists.

And a lot of us on the left hate the Democrats too. It seems like most of your arguments are "hey hillary's racist too." I agree. I've never and will never support a Clinton.

and you know for a fact the last statement is incredibly false.
