Ugh. My proposed title for the now-closed LGBT Discussion Thread was a joke.

I posted in #66 of that thread that no research has associated pedophelia and homosexuality at a higher prevalence than in heterosexuals, as well as links to the research. So yes (Tathra), I'm aware.

^ you can start a fresh new thread if you like cduggles :) I think it was closed because it wasn't particularly focused and the content and title didn't really mash up properly.

I dunno...I didn't make this forum, I wish I had a hand in it though....SG and I did an ok job with PD....I'd remove the "serious discussion" part and replace it with "serious discussion that also allows for humor....next rule....don't take yourself so seriously!"

As far as QT discussion.....why here? If it's not tied to a news report, or law, or somehow wrapped up into politics....it just seems off topic to me here. Queer/Trans issues vary from land to land and culture to culture. And all discussion of it beyond current events and politics should go to sex&rel. Anyway, I'm not opposed to such talk, I know when Im obnoxious and uninhibited, Ive made some vulgar talk on my own sexuality in this forum. I have no illusions of my own inconsistencies.

Politics is how people think their society should treat its own members and how they think their society should act towards foreign societies. Pretty much everything is on topic if it deals with society in any way,.
 
Eeeeh yeah that's true but put that n context with the rest of my post and feelings a thread about queerism should at least be attached to something newsey and current events-ish. I was just stating my opinion, which appears to anger some people. I have no idea why I care what the bluelight admins think of me....must be a thinking error on my part.

Hey guys great news!!!!!


Here in West Australia at 12pm our time tomorrow the campain that has taken years to get some notice by pollies to make the statute of limitations of reporting child sex offences unlimited (is currently 6 years to report child abuse) Will BE INTRODUCED IN PARLIAMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!@@@@


My high school friend was molested over 2 years by a primary school teacher and as an adult finally able to speak out could not do anything due to the statute. She was 8 years old. 6 years later at 14 she was still a bloody kid!

She has been on tv as a spokesperson and avocate for child abuse survivors. Began a campain of email support to bombard the QC John Quigley into fulfilling his election promise and began a sit in watching in person the parliamentary sittings until they noticed she was not going away and had to actually do something.

So....it has worked!



Watch this space esp Aussies as shits going to go down.

That's great news! I agree the statute of limitations needs to be amended when dealing with things like this. In fact anything which happens to a minor should probably have a very long or unlimited period imo.
 
Its to do with compensating survivors, a bill addressing this is not going to be easily passed without a fight. Unfortunately.
